Bishonohana 0 Posted November 29, 2005 He is also not that big.It would just take one mistake picking someone up, and then it is chronic knee/shoulder/back problems from there on out... I hope it never happens, but no doubt there's a kid somewhere who is going to come up and be Asa's nemesis. When is the big question. In the meantime, his sumo is a thing of beauty. Please don't even talk about that... (A yokozuna...) I hope that will never happen either. He has many more records to break while providing us with great entertainment! ;-) Asashoryu is awesome!! Jesinofuji 11 Posted November 29, 2005 Asashoryu has done it. He has cemented his way into Sumo history by breaking 3 impressive records in Kyushu. He has become one of the all time greats, along with Futabayama, Taiho, Kitanoumi, and Chiyonofuji. There is simply no grounds upon which to deny this anymore. With all this, he is still only 25 years old. His Sumo career is still very young. In years to come I expect him to continue his success. Congratulations Asashoryu! Manekineko 200 Posted November 29, 2005 And his historic achievment led to another historic occurence - sumo newslet about it in Croatia's "most serious" daily newspaper. Tiny photo of him receiving the cup from prime minister, as well. Wow.
Sesostris 0 Posted November 29, 2005 A funny thing to note: Shortly before Asa moved into the top-five basho list, his peak rating in Doitsuyama's sumo ratings also moved into the all-time top-five (2619 afther the .latest basho).
