Nishonoseki & Onosato Given Stern Reprimand by NSK for Allowing Underage Drinking

I find it very possible. I come from a non-drinking culture and I have lived in a drinking one; the peer pressure alone is strong. Refusing too many beers/shots will be slightly mocked. No big deal, but I can imagine someone to abuse its position. Not saying Onosato did that, but it's a bit naive to assume some people are not (psychologically) bullied into it.

Apologies. I should have prefaced my last post with "In a drinking culture like Japan's", but peer pressure is not the same as bullying.

And I'm not trying to claim underage drinking is harmless, either. Putting youth and alcohol together is a recipe for some dumb shit happening.

But I'm still struggling to see a real scandal here, and so is the NSK apparently. They've proven themselves willing to jettison real bullies (e,g, Takanofuji, Takagenji, Hokuseiho) in recent years, so I'm happy that the 'stern warning' is commensurate to the Onosato situation.
