The last day will be processed later today or at the latest tomorrow!

If that wasn't a cliffhanger I don't know what is. :-D

Here is the Kekka format, which will be used for making the 2024 Natsu Banzuke.

Here are the Kekka points (calculated by using the simple equation "Points*7.5/ Median").  Extra points were used for Banzuke purposes only (better differentiation).

ANNOUNCEMENT:

After deliberation with Oshirokita - the TUG Banzuke Maker, we decided to make the following Amendment to the TUG Yokozuna Promotion rules:

AMENDMENT to Yokozuna Promotion rules:

"In case an Ozeki Gamer achieves 2 (two) consecutive Yusho wins, he/she is eligible for Promotion to Yokozuna despite he/she does not have a streak of 4 KK bashos."

This means that: ATHENAYAMA will be promoted to Yokozuna during 2024 Natsu Basho.

He got the necessary 34 kekka points during the last 3 bashos:

2023 Kyushu Basho 5 kekka points (MK);

2024 Hatsu Basho 15 kekka points (KK and Yusho);

2024 Haru Basho 15 keka points (KK and Yusho).

TOTAL: 35 kekka points.

Congratulations to Athenayama for achieving the highest rank Yokozuna!

Achiyama, TUG Rijicho

Oshirokita, TUG Banzuke Maker

This was really unexpected, what a surprise ! I am extremely flattered that the board took this decision and amended its rules. I am truly honored.

I was preparing for a tremendous May and July tournaments to be worthy to reach the highest rank.

That said, actually now I am even more motivated to perform "greatly" in the future not only to prove I am worthy of this promotion but also to confirm that the board took the right decision and make them proud of it.

I have a big responsibility now, be assured I'll do my best every single day as long as my body will allow it !

 Thank you and see you on the dohyo !
