Pick The Yusho Winners Kyushu 2021

[Itachi 396]

This is the thread for the Pick The Yusho Winners (PTYW) game for Kyushu 2021.

Until further notice, the game will run just as it has the last several times. I will compile the results and post them as best as I can on this thread.

This is a pre-basho game where each player selects a rikishi from each of 8 sections of the banzuke. The player earns points for each win, each kachikoshi, and each yusho earned by their team of 8 rikishi. The sections of the banzuke are these:

Sanyaku (Y through K)

Maegashira

Juryo

Upper Makushita (Ms1-15 ) (* now including tsukedashi, if any, at these ranks)

Lower Makushita (Ms16-60) (* no longer including tsukedashi from the Upper Makushita ranks)

Sandanme (plus tsukedashi if any)

Jonidan

Jonokuchi


That's it! Simple to understand, difficult to master. The hallmarks of any engaging game.

I have a question my scoring, it shows Raiho has not scored points? I checked the banzuke and he is currently 4-1. Just want to make sure

Thanks for pointing that out!

It turns out that there are 2 Sandanme tsukedashi rikishi that I wasn't aware of. All the win-loss records below Sd 100 are shifted by 2 ranks in my score generating spreadsheet.

I will adjust in the extra 2 rikishi and thereby lineup the correct records for the Jonidan and Jonokuchi rikishi in this game.

Tsukedashi have often caused problems for me. The banzuke data I get from the sumogames database usually doesn't include them when I do my pre-basho set up. I only realize later when the incoming win-loss records contain extra rows. *sigh*

My apologies for not noticing the Sandanme tsukedashi.
