Asojima 2,874 Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) Days 1 thru 15 Niji is not available. It is declaring a network error. UBS Live. UBS Global Live. UBS archives its broadcasts shortly after the program finishes. To get to an archive, open the UBS link and click on the program entry on the right for the program to be watched. The archive covers the period from the start of the entry to the start of the next entry. Unfortunately, the program schedule has little to do with content broadcast during that period. Live sumo starts at or about 16:00 daily. The digests are locally produced and tend to highlight the matches involving the Mongolians. The appearance time for the digests is very random. Thanxalot! I tried to tune in to the UBS Livestream for the last 3 or 4 bouts but couldn't get a connection - maybe too many requests all of a sudden? Treblemaker 254 Posted July 19, 2015 Came across this link: http://wilsonjj.me/jptv/# Can someone check this out (click on one of the streams - for me, vaughanlive works), and tell me if this is the channel that NHK broadcasts sumo on?
Treblemaker 254 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) Ok, just for old times sake, I went back and downloaded KeyholeTV! http://www.keyholetv.jp/ (Remember it?) IT WORKS! Mind you, it was pretty choppy, so I went for the Premium Module Key (5 days for $1, 30 days for $5), and it's the NHK broadcast, in Japanese, including Juryo bouts. The window is still pretty small, but can be enlarged somewhat, and the video is slightly choppy, but acceptable. So, for $5 every couple of months, I can live with getting the full live NHK broadcast, from Juryo right on up. Better than paying $$$$$ to NHK, or subscribing $20/month for Japan TV. It's reminiscent of the old NHK live feed, but since there are severely limited options, this (at least for now and a few bucks) satisfies the desire to watch some live action, even in a small window. Late edit: Compared it to the UBS broadcast, and the video is thousands of times better on UBS, but lags almost 30 seconds behind the NHK broadcast. Still, for experimentation purposes, I'm watching the tiny Keyhole video, simply because I like the genuine ambient background noise, and also for nostalgia.. IMHO and YMMV. sesom 55 Posted July 22, 2015 UBS is very stable for me this basho. Everybody who has problems watching the stream in the browser should try to watch UBS via VLC, the stream URL is: http://103.60.97.12/e1/ubs_480p.stream/playlist.m3u8
