i'm no expert.

I'm writing a large diploma work about famous couples of male SPORTS STARS married (or seriously related) with female SHOW STARS/ ACTRESSES/ MODELS etc.

it's a topic for theatre-, film- and TV-science, a media science in germany (univ. cologne/ koeln), and someone told me----

I'm certainly not qualified to answer your question, but to my knowledge there actually aren't many showstars married to famous sumo-wrestlers. The sumo-wrestlers certainly seem to have an ability to catch some of the better-looking women, but showstars? I don't know... Certainly one reason may be that the wives of sumo-wrestlers are supposed to act as okamisan, when sumo-wrestlers open up their own stable after retiring from the active sport. This job as okamisan is requiring a lot of time and energy, at least this is my impression. So an active showstar doesn't seem to be the ideal match in the light of the long-term prospects.
