Kintamayama 47,175 Posted January 6, 2004 (edited) Well, those of you who feel keiko news are boring can move along. There is nothing for you here.. Souken observations: Although all Yokozuna/Ozekis were present, there were no inter-Ozeki or O/Y matches at all. Asashouryuu: seems healthy, did some vicious throws, but appeared winded after 5-6 bouts and did ony 14, which is not much for him. Tochiazuma: 20 matches, looked very good. Lower body perfectly balanced like last Basho. Heavyweights Tochinonada and Iwakiyama were stopped in their tracks and then easily manhandled by him. They probably were rehearsing how to lose to him on purpose, huh.. KaioU: Looking very good. The right arm that has been giving him trouble and stopping him from doing proper keiko seems to be healed for now. He was seen doing a few awesome right-arm uwatenages. His power was there for all to see. Chiyotaikai: Worrisome. Looked tired and heavy and sluggish. "I'm tired and too heavy", he admitted. Lost to Kotomitsuki 2-7. He looked utterly helplesss against nodo-was and oshis and stuff. Musouyama: 13 matches, and looked out of breath as well. Rohou-The new Russian Sekitori -First time against Makuuchi opponents- was seen throwing down Kotomitsuki decisively. "This is your chance to prove yourself, so go for it!! Don't do "pulling" Sumo!!", advised his ex-Oyakata Taihou. Edited January 6, 2004 by Kintamayama
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted January 6, 2004 (edited) (Whatever above, it is funny...) Well, those of you who feel keiko news are boring can move along. There is nothing for you here Not quick to forget, huh? (Yawning...) The point was more that it doesn't matter that much, at least to me, how people do in soken when it comes time to make sumo game predictions. Are there no ozeki/yokozuna matches normally? Do they always face lower opposition? Edited January 6, 2004 by Yoavoshimaru
