Kaikitsune Makoto 210 Posted December 27, 2003 Tochiazuma's fatique peaks again after having already trained very hard. He went to Dewanoumi-beya keiko session where he had many bouts with Tochinonada + some others winning 19 out of 22 bouts. "Chin kept low, good sumo!" said he after showing his trademark low stance sumo with good record. Kokkai has injured his left knee. Injury doesn't sound very serious but surely hampers his preparation for Kyushu basho. He says it is getting better but is not in keiko shape yet. No further details of the nature of the injury. 2 days without keiko now.
QttP 0 Posted December 28, 2003 Kokkai has injured his left knee. Injury doesn't sound very serious but surely hampers his preparation for Kyushu basho. Hatsu basho. Judging by his performance I'd say he was pretty damn well-prepared for the Kyushu basho.
Kintamayama 47,178 Posted December 29, 2003 (edited) Kokkai has injured his left knee. Injury doesn't sound very serious but surely hampers his preparation for Kyushu basho. He says it is getting better but is not in keiko shape yet. No further details of the nature of the injury. 2 days without keiko now. Update: Georgian Shin-New-Maku Kokkai injured his knee on the 23rd and is still not doing any serious keiko. Oitekaze Oyakata : "It's no big deal. We just don't want him to endanger himself needlessly", he said. But Kokkai's facial expressions said otherwise. " This is the first time I've injured my knee. Till yesterday, I couldn't even walk down the stairs. I can't do any Sumo, and that irritates me", he said. He is hoping to enter the dohyo on the fourth, when full training will resume at the Heya. Seems serious enough to me.. Edited December 29, 2003 by Kintamayama
Manekineko 200 Posted December 29, 2003 Sigh. (In a bad mood...) What is it with my favourite rikishi and knees, anyway?
Taka 33 Posted January 1, 2004 (edited) Sigh. (In a bad mood...) What is it with my favourite rikishi and knees, anyway? In boxing there is an old saying: "Women make your knees weak" :-D (In a state of confusion...) Edited January 1, 2004 by Taka
Gusoyama 104 Posted January 2, 2004 Georgian Shin-New-Maku Kokkai injured his knee on the 23rd and is still not doing any serious keiko. Oitekaze ... Seems serious enough to me.. Well, at least now I know who my 6 pointer in UDH will be. :-) (Nodding yes...) Hopefully this will just be a minor setback, and not the start of something chronic.
