Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted March 18, 2003 The upper Makushita doesn't seem to be the right place yet for the two youngsters Ryuo and Toyonoshima. Both lost today and are 1-4 and 0-5 respectively. The Russian brothers Roho and Hakurozan lost too and are 2-3 both. Kotooshu from Bulgaria is 5-0 in Jonidan despite a heavy knee injury. Katayama lost to a Sandanme rikishi, so there are only three undefeated rikishi in Makushita, giving a ray of yusho hope to the 17 Makushita rikishi with one loss. -- Doitsuyama [pre] Jonokuchi Jk31e
Yubiquitoyama 4 Posted March 18, 2003 Jd55w Hoshikaze (5-0) hatakikomi Jd48e Miyazaki (4-1) This (Hoshikaze) is the guy who lost to Kotooshu first in Maezumo in November, and then in his first ever match in Jonokuchi in Hatsu. A smallish Mongolian it was obvious he still made Kotooshu fight for his win in Maezumo, as Dale put the movie on the web: http://banzuke.com/sumomovies/kyushu2002/d...otoo_hoshika.rm It seems he actually do have some ability too, since he has won his last 11 matches in-a-row after that initial loss (Laughing...) Another (they are quite a few by now... ) Mongolian to follow :-
Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted March 18, 2003 Thanks for the link to the movie! I didn't recognize this yet, somehow it went by me... This bout was REALLY good for a mae-zumo bout...
