More news-Chiyotaikai and Asashouryuu

Asashouryuu did not show up for degeiko at Kokonoe yesterday. Asasekiryuu, Touki, and others did come. Kokonoe: "He's probably doing keiko at Takasago". He wasn't. Rumors had it that his left waist injury was aggravated, but were vehemently denied by Heya officials. He was reportedly busy with some Heya things. He had his hair done at ten AM and left the building for some meeting. He will be resuming keiko today. His next meeting with Takamisakari will be on the dohyo in Kyushu, it seems.

Kokonoe Oyakata is increasingly perturbed by Chiyotaikai's liaison with Japanese "Tarento" Kawamura Hikari. Yesterday, when Asashouryuu didn't show up at Kokonoe, others, like KaioU, Asasekiryuu and Kotomitsuki did. Taikai was 10-15 against them. He was being admonished by his Oyakata throughout the training session. "This is all because all he's been doing lately is "playing around". He's become fat from being happy (this sounds great in Japanese-幸せ太り..sounds great in any language actually..) or something like that!! He kept that Saipan trip a secret from me!! GRRRR!", said the usually scary Kokonoe Oyakata.

"As you can see, I over-ate during the Aki Jungyo!!", said Chiyotaikai, emphasizing the fact that his current ability has nothing to do with his girl. He now is in tenth place overall for an Ozeki reign ,29th basho.

"Looks like he's aiming for Futagoyama Oyakata's 50 basho Ozeki record..", said Oyakata, wryly, trying to arouse the sleeping.

This is probably one of the funniest paragraphs of sumo news report I have seen :-) :-( (Applauding...)

"Become fat from being happy" is just too funny in connection to Chiyotaikai and his love life! And that "I over-ate!" :-P

10-15 is not good at all even though he fought KaioU, Kotomitsuki etc. But again. in Taikai's case it can be that his explosiveness or sensitivity of muscles is not optimal now due to over-eating induced slugglishness and hard keiko. During basho his explosiveness will come back and then he may look normal again.

Btw, Kotomitsuki has been present in these hard keiko sessions every day but his records doesn't really seem as good as they were in keiko at his prime. Then again he has been doing keiko very hard which itself is an indication of good elbow condition. We shall see soon.
