Kintamayama 47,178 Posted October 30, 2003 Takamisakari came for degeiko at Tomozuna yesterday, where he met KaioU and Kotonowaka, among others. Last basho, KaioU criticized Sakari for not being a "man", by doing lousy keiko and going all-out only in honbasho. (after he lost to him, I might add subtly..). Well, he ate dirt yesterday over and over again. He was extra weak and looked really bad. When he fell down especially hard after being manhandled by KaioU, Akebono Oyakata shouted, " Don't hold back with your strength!! You'll be injured!!" "You're really funny", added KaioU. The usually gentle Kotonowaka added angrily, " He is not going all out. I am!" "I had a great workout today. The Ozeki is very strong. I'll have to do better", said Sakari. "I don't hate the guy. But from now on I'll be stating my mind!!", said KaioU. KaioU was looking very strong. He fought Sakari, Kotonowaka, Kotomitsuki and others, and showed great movement and strength. He lost only once out of 23. He had some taping on his right knee, but said "Since it was quite cold today, I was taped up for that reason only. I have no pain at all. In Aki, my feeling and my body and everything else was bad. In order for that not to happen again, I'm doing everything at my own pace." Asashouryuu has still to resume full keiko, after his minor waist injury suffered during jungyo. He donned a mawashi, but didn't enter the ring. He just had a conversation with Chiyotaikai and others who came for degeiko. "Sure is cold. My left elbow feels a bit stiff," he said. There was a freezing wind blowing, so he wasn't taking any chances and took the day off. He did some butsugari-geiko with Makushita and unders the day before, and added " I'm geared up for the coming Basho, but I'd say I'm 60% fit physically at the moment". There are still 10 days to go, and Asa, who hates delaying his preparations, is waiting to get back to full preparations as soon as possible.

Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted October 30, 2003 I knew we had to have some intrigue with Kaio. First he's injured, then he's not. It can never be easy predicting how well he's going to do (In a state of confusion...)
