The next jungyo is the Mongolian one in August, then comes London in October 2009. " There is talk with people in Thailand. It looks like we'll be having more and more foreign jungyos from now on.. If our conditions are met, we will be moving forward with this. It should probably happen after the London Jungyo", said the Oyakata. Kintamayama 45,534 Posted February 17, 2012 The Thailand jungyo has kicked off today. The first ever Bangkok sumo spectacle commenced today amidst an enthusiastic crowd. The actual reason for the jungyo was the Thai King's 84th birthday last December but it was postponed due to the floods back then. The show consisted of explanations of the kimarite, doing shiko and matawari, children's sumo and actual bouts as well. Well, all four Kasugano-beya sekitori are in the picture Kintamayama posted: Tochiozan, Tochinowaka, Kimurayama and Tochinoshin. I'm sure many of us wish good health to HM the King of Thailand (I happen to have been born in the same year as Queen Sirikit). In addition to the sekitori mentioned earlier, I believe the rest of the line-up was: Tochifudo (ex-Juryo), Tochikasuga, Tochitaiga, Tochitensho.
