Kotoseiya Yuichi 3 Posted July 28, 2003 These times seem to be more or less the same as those I copied from Nekonishiki-zeki's site to the forum's calendar. (Link near the top right corner.)
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted July 28, 2003 Hopefully it's nagoya 2003, and not something historical (Clapping wildly...) Thanks for the times here and on the calendar (which I'm finding increasingly useful!) (In a state of confusion...)
QttP 0 Posted July 28, 2003 Hopefully it's nagoya 2003, and not something historical (Being unsure...) Thanks for the times here and on the calendar (which I'm finding increasingly useful!) (In a state of confusion...) Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing something historical... Would you? Like, Haru 2000, the first basho I ever saw, which happened to be a sensational one (Takatoriki), or Hatsu 1999, where Chiyotaikai earned his fame, or some older tournaments... It's a pity there aren't enough sumo fans world wide to justify such digest shows on Eurosport... I mean, I've seen the Euro 72 final (West Germany 3-0 USSR) 5 times at least, but to show old Sumo tournaments, heaven forbid. Lousy people. (Clapping wildly...) Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted July 28, 2003 I usually don't mind historical bouts at all. When I first saw the movies on banzuke.com I started from the oldest. It's so cool to see young Takanohana (Takahanada), Akebono, etc. And of course Chyionofuji throwing Konishiki out of the dohyo -- wow (In a state of confusion...) But right now I want to see the recent basho on Eurosport. In fact, I'd like them to show every basho live, and then to have re-runs of that day the same day at a suitable time for me (EST zone)... But that's just wishful thinking (Clapping wildly...)

I mean, I've seen the Euro 72 final (West Germany 3-0 USSR) 5 times at least, but to show old Sumo tournaments, heaven forbid. Lousy people. (Annoyed...) I suspect this is not only the fault of Eurosport, but NHK from whom they buy their sumo broadcasts. It seems they simply pay for two showings or at least one or a few basho would have been rerun during the years Eurosport have shown sumo. The old Paris koen which started it all was thrown in both here and there for years showing Eurosport probably has no real aversion against sending sumo, but NHK probably want quite a bit of money for it, which the delay when Eurosport was renegotiating their sumo program contract seems to indicate. That notwithstanding, of course it would be nice with more sumo... In fact, I wouldn

Can you watch Eurosport from Boston, or are you in reality situated somewhere else? ;-) (Annoyed...)

Nekonishiki Banji 403 Posted August 1, 2003 I copied from Nekonishiki-zeki's site I got them from the Spanish mailing list, Jose Luis published them. His previous schedule of Natsu Basho was exact, too, so I believe him much more than to Eurosport's website or teletext.
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted August 4, 2003 I'm in Boston, physically. I can get Eurosport if I subscribe to satellite TV, but I don't. Instead during the basho I get TV-Japan from RCN, my cable TV provider. There are a number of sports bars I like, none of which more than 15 minutes away from my house, where I occassionally (and almost always for the European basketball final four) go to watch Eurosport.
