Kintamayama 47,171 Posted July 24, 2003 Shoes-on has left for Mongolia for a short vacation. "If I will be able to meet Asashouryuu there, I would like to shake his hand (subtext: patch up things) . Something tells me that if Shuzan meets Asashoryu, one of them won't come back.
Zenjimoto 40 Posted July 24, 2003 Do the Japanese sekitori get as much "home leave" as the Mongolians? Seems like they are constantly over there... Cheers Zenjimoto
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted July 24, 2003 Did the Hawaiian, and do the Russian and Korean, sekitori get to go home as much? I would think so. It doesn't seem like they're going home too much to me, but that's subjective.

Zentoryu 154 Posted July 24, 2003 Do the Japanese sekitori get as much "home leave" as the Mongolians? Seems like they are constantly over there... Probably a perk of rank. I don't remember reading about Asashoryu going "home" quite as much before he became Ozeki. He has also been home a lot partly because of his promotion celebrations. (Applauding...) However, this is the first time I recollect reading about Shuzan going home this year, though I don't know that for certain. The Japanese sekitori probably get to go home as much as the Mongolians. We just don't hear about it. I mean, let's face it, "home" for them is probably not very far away from the heya. (In a state of confusion...)
