Is it just my lame pronunciation skills, or is "Fujiryouga" especially tough to say? Fujirou-... F-Fujiryou... ga... Goshima.

I do wonder who much higher Mitoryu (or Ichinojo) might've climbed if they'd somehow landed in Isegahama instead of Terunofuji.

Looking for an old video, might not be available any more though…

Sound's like NHK's sumopedia video on the tachiai. Vid linked to time. -
Video Nagoya Basho 2025- Videos? What videos?
yohcun replied to Kintamayama's topic in Honbasho Talk
Was that Hakuho/Ichinojo incident that time when Hakuho was annoyed at how easily Ichinojo gives up on the defensive, or am I thinking of a different one? I'm pretty sure he dame-oshi'd him more than once. -
That's pretty shocking. He seemed like such a mild guy.

I would've gone with "The Akiseyama".

What a bizarre crime. All that risky bother for a parking space.

Flying Monkey Trouble - Tobizaru Accused of Bullying
yohcun replied to Kaninoyama's topic in Ozumo Discussions
Pretty ironic that Tobizaru is a violence perpetrator given I've often thought he has the most punchable face in ozumo. -
To me it feels like "news in between basho", so I'd go the other way. But here is fine. I check both places.

Never seemed quite the same after his knee injury, and the decline/retirement of the old Onomatsu oyakata. He was one of this next big things when I first started watching, getting three consecutive 10-5s from his Makuuchi debut.

Oho goes 15-0, each time spouting his new catch phrase "Oh-HOH!?" to turn the tables mid-bout.

I admired him more than I was a fan of his actual sumo, which seems to be a common feeling here. Just look at his sumo upbringing. An oni dad -> Saitama Sakae -> Takanohana-beya. That's how a 170-something tall guy with slightly stumpy arms makes Ozeki at 22.

Well not anymore, no.

Crazy to see that Oitekaze had zero sekitori back then.

Glad to see Bariki can bend over slightly.
