    Minimum Kachi-Koshi forever

    Ozeki back-scratching?
  2. Good for him. Hope he has a better time than the last 王 shin-juryo.

    the Dark Side of Hakuho....

If only that was the last leg-cripping fall Yoshikaze took.
  4. I love Ichinojo but I think he's peaked, sadly. There was a period around 2018 where he was a reliable sekiwake, and looked like he might push for ozeki. But, he was 230kg. His back can't handle that weight anymore, and without it, he's back to that mid-maegashira form.
  5. Nishikido delivers another classic mono-ii announcement. Please never change. edit: 2 in the same bout! But he doesn't maul it the 2nd time.
  6. I'm not usually that into his sumo, but I'd be happy if Takakeisho takes it. I want to see him earn his reward for how well he stepped up and upheld the honor of the yoko-zeki ranks after they all crumbled away this time.
  7. Akiseyama all but seals the most unlikely makuuchi promotion in a long time*. This basho has now peaked as far as I'm concerned. *except maybe that one guy, Teru-whatev'r.

    Gagamaru retired

Found on twitter: Jonokuchi yusho championship interview, Hatsu 2006.
  9. Two M17 yushos this year (and a close call with Tobizaru in September), and they're still leaving it this late to give co-leader Shimanoumi some higher opponents. Tradition dies hard, but come on.

If he plans to transition into a metal career, he has my support.

    Kotoshogiku retires

His yusho is one of my fondest sumo memories. It must be even more special to the Japanese public. Otsukaresama, Ozeki. I look forward to your OB sumo bout with Araiso. It appears he did.
  12. That's a lot less french than the nickname I'd mentally given it. The cat puke.

I see Hagiwara's doing nothing to shed that henka-artist reputation that he entered sumo with.

I'm curious about Jk15 Takasu, Takayasu's uchi-deshi in Tagonura. He's just a kid with no prior sumo experience, so I'm not expecting leaps and bounds, but I just haven't been able to find any footage of him in action yet.

    Ridiculous Predictions November 2020 basho

Another 3-way Tatsunami play-off ensues. This time Hoshoryu emerges victorious after pretending to welcome Meisei in for another hug, only to hook his foot around and trip him. Akua did not participate as everyone, including Akua, forgot about Akua.
