Mukade Beya (Formerly STI) Sumo Gaming Banter Thread
Haidouzo replied to Pandaazuma's topic in Sumo Games
Thank you! Fantastic. I had no idea. And, to be clear, I really didn't mean it as a criticism. There's certainly an argument to be made that what appears to be a lopsided bout can make the underdog appealing for those trying to desperately jump up the rankings. I seriously just remembered in the past learning after the fact that one of the six bouts featured one day had an otherwise-favored rikishi who appeared to have been slightly injured the day before (making it a much more even bout, or at least a bout full of doubt--until the rikishi withdrew that day). So I really was asking if something happened to Hakuho that I wasn't aware of. As always, my endless thanks to all who make the games happen. -

I'm not sure I can ever recall seeing my #1 pick in SG featured in DST. (Not to mention being over 81% to win, according to The Machine.) Am I missing something? -

Yes, GANBARIMASU twice, because I wasn't paying attention for extra good luck. -

Another [gerund form of expletive] tiebreak loss in Bench--my third of the basho in Bench alone--for 6-3 and now one short of the yusho lead. (And on a perfect day, no less.) 67-65 in points, 8-6 in AADs, and 2 out of 5 tiebreaks for 4-5 in SG. Insane. Also slipped to 14th in DST. But still tied for 11th in ISP. Now in a five-way yusho tie in Quad. In a large tie for 10th in Toto, somehow. And in a four-way tie for the jun-yusho in TTT. In the pre-bashos, I have a big ol' day 7 yusho lead in Salarycap, I'm alone for the jun-yusho in POG (just one point behind the leader), I believe I'm currently at a tiebreak loss in a head-to-head yusho battle in Bingo, I'm in a four-way tie for 9th in NC, and I'm in a three-way tie for third in FS. Good times. GANBARIMASU GANBARIMASU -

A mixed day 8, with losses where I didn't want them. Still rolling in Bench, with a 6-2, along with a number of others I can't be bothered to count right now. Now tied for 11th in DST and ISP, to boot. And now in a 7-way tie for the jun-yusho in Quad. Even pushed out to a 5-3 in Toto. BUT Took my first outright (non-tiebreak) loss in SG for a frustrating 4-4, and slipped again in TTT for a four-way tie for 4th. (And missed in Odd again, even after the safest bet yet.) For over a year now, I've watched some promising runs turn into nothing, or close enough to nothing. You may only have to beat 3 points or so! -

With the usual exception of Odd and another heartbreaking loss (this time in TTT), it's another clean sweep on day 7! (Okay, and maybe a middling day in DST.) (And a loss in the Baka Cup.) After day seven, I have only five losses between SG and Bench, and all five were tiebreak losses. Still just outside the top 10 in DST. A 10-way tie for the yusho in Bench. A large tie for 4th in Quad. A 9-way tie for 3rd in SG (one win behind the leaders). And now a four-way tie for the jun-yusho in TTT. 3rd after day 6 in Salarycap. 2nd in POG. 3rd in Bingo. 3-way tie for 3rd in FS. Might I actually have a sliver of a chance to finish a basho ahead of the Panda?? GANBARIMASU! -
Without consulting any data whatsoever, I'm projecting myself at +25 if I were on your list.

The only reason it isn't pushing out a 404 is because you nailed it to the server.

Sad, sad, sad tiebreak losses in SG AND Bench (for 3-3 and 4-2, respectively) plus the usual loss in Odd were the only things standing in the way of a perfect day 6. But now in a three-way tie at 6-0 in TTT, and just outside the top 10 in DST. GANBARIMASU -

A heartbreaking tiebreak loss on the third bench rikishi in Bench for 4-1 there (in what must have been a highlight-reel bout with another 4-0 player). A fairly mixed day otherwise, with a strong day in DST, and now in a four-way tie at 5-0 in TTT. In the pre-bashos, I'm hovering at 2nd in Salarycap, and now 9th in POG and 6th in Bingo. Also tied for 4th in FS. I usually struggle for pre-basho points, so I'll hope I end up with at least... one point at the end of the basho. GANBARIMASU -

A rough day 3 for me, also, with wins only in Bench and TTT (for 3-0 in both). GANBARIMASU -

Now 0 out of 6 selected rikishi in Odd have won. Also out of Chaingang on day 2. The tiebreak loss in SG is the only other loss on day 2, so it's a very nice start to the basho. GANBARIMASU
