Gurowake 4,151 Posted September 28 (edited) Ozeki Sakura clears kadoban, while Chishafuwaku and new Ozeki Bunbukuchagama get MKs and are themselves kadoban. Next-ozeki-ura succeeds in becoming the next Ozeki in this game, making 5 total now. It wasn't too impressive of a run, but it met the requirements. Sekiwake Bill returns to the rank and needs only 10 wins next basho for Ozeki promotion. Kobashi with a great score as the top competing maegashira is basically in the same position. Yusho winner Kitakachiyama also squeaks in as an extra Sekiwake with the same requirement for promotion. Due to the excess number of Ozeki and potential promotees for next tournament, the requirements are theoretically raised, but Bill and Kitakachiyama have over 24 wins the last two tournaments and thus regardless of how high the requirements go due to excess Ozeki, with just the minimum 10 wins needed for promotion, they'll meet the higher requirements. Kobashi is in a very slightly worse position. If the other two Sekiwake are promoted with better 3-basho scores and no current Ozeki are demoted, he'll need 10.14 wins, as he's 0.14 short of 24 wins the last two tournaments. Kintamayama doesn't have a good enough score to push to Sekiwake from Komusubi with how many Ozeki and Sekiwake there already are and so remains at Komusubi. He is joined by Kaito, the next best maegashira. But l’ll take Ms2 and apparently the highest score among Makushita players(?). thank you for the organisation of the game and well done to nextozekiura for reaching Ozeki before Ura.
