I was VERY disappointed that part of the Sumo broadcast was missed, too! (Applauding...) At least they did show the bouts again that were missed... Thank goodness!! (Sign of approval)

I especially like the Dohyo Matsuri... Not every day you can see the actual blessing of the Dohyo! Thanks for sharing!! (Applauding...)

ilovesumo - Verena, That was nice of you to post those links for those that do not get an opportunity to see the actual live Basho... I always forget that there are fans of sumo that do not get to watch it on TV. (Applauding...) You are very considerate and kind Sumo fan!! (Heart)

I guess I'm surprised that you haven't noticed it before.... Better late than never, I say! (Yusho winner...)

It was a bout between Kitanofuji and the late Takanohana (may he rest in peace). The bout was one of the Guest Kojima's (Ex-Jockey -Race Horse Trainer)favorite, chosen supposedly by him. It was also called a Kabai-te from Kitanofuji to keep Takanohana from getting injured by putting his hands on the Dohyo first. This was another controversial bout from long ago....January 1972. There was over 5 minutes of Mono-ii (Mono-ii...) to discuss the kimarite, but the Shinpan (Order, order! ) overruled against the Gyoji, and gave the win to Kitanofuji for protecting Takanohana. It certainly looked like Takanohana was doing the throwing by using his right arm-uwatenage.... Coincidence???? (Nodding yes...) I think not.... (Being hypocrite...)

Jonosuke-san, can you refresh my memory as to what Kotooshu did to be branded with a disorderly conduct reputation?? The only incident that I can recall is when he was upset with the call of a match and was yelling in the shitakubeya/ofuro... Is that considered as such an act? (Nodding yes...)

From what I saw, I thought it was his left ankle... I guess it was his knee, if that's what NHK said. It sure looked like he twisted his ankle in an awkward position! Either way, it looked very painful!! Ouch!

1. Where do you live? Traverse City, Michigan 2. How are you watching it? (banzuke.com, satellite, cable, etc.) Dish Network - My cable company (Charter Communication) does not offer TVJapan . 3. Cost of watching it? $30.00 a month 4. Do you stay up to watch it live, or record/watch the next day? I record and watch it the first thing the next morning!! (Whistling...) Comes on live at 3AM~5AM my time.

(Laughing...) I hate Hokutoriki! :-P

Thank you, Fay! ;-) I just saw it on another thread (the link you provided). I should have done a search for it before asking... :-/ I appreciated the quick response, though!! (Blowing up furiously...)

Any pix of Kisenosato's new kesho mawashi, anywhere?? I was wondering how "cute" the kitty was....

Awesome Toolbar! Thanks a bunch!

(Eek...) OMG!!! ;-) Who knew there were sooooo many different variations, even in other languages??? :-) Thank you for the enlightenment... (Praying...)

I vote for Kansai. Even though Kanto has it's own great qualities, I prefer the food in Kansai. Osaka is known for it's "kuidoraku" (the pleasure of eating). It's not all about the food, but it does have it's calling! (Eek...) (Praying...) It's a fine line, though...

Makes me wince just to look at it.... (Praying...)

I tried it and it looks pretty cool. It's a bit fuzzy, but I think I will keep it as my Desk Top through the Basho. Thanks!!

Thank you for the translations! He sounds sad, somehow... Being away from home and family does take a toll, huh?

In the middle is Hakurozan?? He doesn't even look the same!! (But the bandage does....)
-
I know... Strange how things work, isn't it?? I discovered that quite by accident... :-P But as long as you can do either, by toggling English/Japanese, then it's pretty good, I say! B-)

She's a cutie! AND she can clean, too!! What a deal! Thanks for the picture! (Punk rocker...) -
Wow! Jonosuke-san!! That is some interesting story about Chiyotaikai!! I knew he was a "bad boy" in his younger days, but I didn't know all this... :-) :-) Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

OK... At 171 cm, he isn't the tallest person, but it works for me! (Hugging...) He still has a sexy face. (In love...) There is nothing wrong with Short People, I say. By the way, that song is pretty funny! (Laughing...)
