The new Kotomitsuki Bento looks yummy!! (Shaking head...) I'm a Mickey fan, but as a new Ozeki, I personally don't think he can Yusho. (Laughing...) If he can win 11~12, I would be very happy! (I am not worthy...)

I guess I don't undertand what's wrong with being a Japanese citizen, if you want to? (I am not worthy...) Is it a betrayal of your original country? (Laughing...) Is it because Hakuho's Father is a Mongolian hero?? (Shaking head...)

Jonosuke-san, I have to agree with all that you've said in your posts. Getting prepared and the rituals are what makes sumo, Ozumo. I can't even imagine how boring it would be to just have 2 opponents face each other and only the bout. I feel Ozumo is the very essence of the ancient Japanese culture and Bushi-Do. Maybe there are a lot of fans that just want to watch the bouts, but to me, without seeing the dohyo-iri and all the piece parts that make up this sport, it would not be as enchanting.... Yes, I do concern myself about the wins/losses in the sumo games I play and the rikishi that I choose to support, but after when it's all said and done, I personally enjoy 100% of the Ozumo. Fans can pick and choose what part (sometimes without choice) they are willing to embrace and that's OK, too. (I am not worthy...) Thank you for all the great posts and knowledge you have passed on to enlighten all of us here on the Forum!! Just my humble opinion.... (Laughing...)

See what you have done?? You made sumo (Asa in particular) go to hell in a hand-basket!! (I am not worthy...) No more leaving for you!! (Laughing...)

Despite "cold feet" caused by unkind remarks by a forumer and a desperate last-minute search for the "perfect woman" in the Great Lakes area, the wedding ceremony for Tochinohana and his "unlovely" bride, Masami, was held as scheduled on Sept. 1 in Tokyo. The event was attended by approximately 530 people including Kitanoumi Rijicho and the mayor of Tochi's hometown. The mayor said in his speech, "The merger of towns and cities are successful if both parties respect each other. It is the same with human relationships." The Rijicho led the "Breaking the Cask" of the renowned Iwate sake. When the couple, who had an eight-year courtship, held hands and jointly cut the wedding cake, the assembled guests broke into sustained applause. An emotional Tochi said, "I am deeply moved by all the people who came to celebrate with me. I would like to do well in Aki Basho and make my bride happy." I guess he didn't know how to find me.... (Shaking head...) Wahhhhh.... <sniffle, sniffle> Plus, I didn't even get an invitation! (I am not worthy...) I hope they will be very happy and Tochi will prove that he still has what it takes to do well in Aki! (Laughing...)

Great question! I was also wondering what the protocal was in returning the cup, flag, etc..... Thank you for the enlightenment!

That's how I saw it, too! Asa has no room for matta when he's going at lightening speed!!! (Whistling...) Chiyo needs to "man up!"
-
He would be glad to accept the Henka-sho! (Clapping wildly...) He's not proud... (Whistling...) He'll take what he can get! (Whistling...) (Laughing...)

"Oh, Mickey, you're so fine! Go Mickey, go Mickey!!" Being serious... I sure do hope that he will make it this time! I guess time will tell, but I'm cheering for him!

(Yusho winner...) I can't wait to see Hakuho's Dohyo-iri !!! (Dohyo-iri...) It should be something to see since it's been so long since Miyagino style has been used! (Sigh...)

Welcome, Sithlordess!! You must be great fan to permanently mark yourself with their names!! ;-) I hope it looks great! (Whistling...) Enjoy all the good info on this forum!

Aminishiki was clearly the winner.... I lost my Sumo Game today because of this bout! Wahhhh..... I should have stuck to my gut instincts and picked Aminishiki! ;-)

A little bit.... John Goodman's nose is longer and bigger, though. ;-)

Henkas are great when done right!!! (Clapping wildly...) (In a state of confusion...) Even though I'm not a henka fan, that was worth seeing! Thanks for sharing old memories!!

It's not the size that matters.... :-P
-
Thanks, Fay!!! :-P

The sad part was Kisenosato fell for it! :'-(

It's a typical Asa finish! Nothing new... (Sign of disapproval...) Too bad someone doesn't do that to him. But then that "someone" would be "severely punished," though. :-P No one is dumb enough to that to Asa. Only those bad examples can be set by the Yokozuna Asashoryu. (or Roho sometimes... ) (Whistling...)

which tan line? my eyes miss something? ;-) I guess I missed it, too.... It just looks like he has shadows from the light like most of them. Yup, maybe we're missing something?? Great pictures, Fay!! Why 220 pictures of Kakuryu? (Sign of approval...) Do you like him? Just curious...

Off Topic, still: Here in the USA, those are indeed a Jacket. Windbreaker is more made of nylon that cuts the wind, hence the name Windbreaker... In Japanese, though, it's called a "janpa." (Sign of approval...)
