Jonosuke さんのおっしゃる通りです。 後の世に名声を残すのが真の横綱でしょう。 ただし、そのためには単に多く勝ったというだけではいけません。 相撲界の2大記録は双葉山の69連勝と、大鵬の32回の優勝です。 朝青龍がもし現在の言動や態度のままでこれら不滅の記録に迫ったとしたら、 (私は決して彼がそれらを越えることが出来ないと思っているが) 彼は「相撲の鬼」といったイメージで後世に語り継がれることになるでしょう。 この場合「鬼」は悪を意味するのではなく、比類無い強さを象徴するのですが、 現在、双葉山を見てない多くの人が彼に抱くイメージに「鬼」のニュアンスの 入る余地は有りません。 いわば「相撲の神様」のような存在として伝わってるように思います。 双葉山の連戦連勝は当時の皇国思想や国粋主義の影響下で、 ことさらに神格化された事も伝わっていますが、 私は双葉山の残した言動によって「相撲の神様」のイメージが 決して大げさではないと感じています。 大双葉と比較することがそもそも間違ってるかも知れませんが、 私は少なくとも人種的偏見を交えて朝青龍を評価するつもりはありません。 ただ、過去の言動が作った彼のイメージを彼自身が払拭するためには、 言葉では言い表しにくいですが、何か精神的な変化が必要かも知れません。 彼にとっては、余計なお世話に他ならないでしょうが、今後の彼の言動によって 私は横綱朝青龍をじっくり見定めたいと思います。 (Nodding yes...)

超元気! 人が変わったような変身ぶりですね。 最大の弱点であった、相手の押し、引き、速い動きに十分対処できるようになりました。 今までなら、前に落ちて負けていた相撲を、今場所は少なくとも3番は拾いました。 それだけでなく、逆に彼自身が押し、引きを自在に使いこなせるようになっています。 苦手の克服と自在な相撲スタイルは、足腰(下半身)の粘りの強化によって達成されたものです。 そして、それらは稽古や鍛錬によって改善されたと考えるよりも、 彼の下半身のどこかの故障箇所が完治したと考える方が事実に近いと私は思っています。 2場所前あたりまでは、彼の実力は十両レベルだと私は判断していましたが、 それは、怪我や故障によるものであったようです。 今場所の相撲を見る限りでは、幕内中位で十分通用する相撲と判断できます。 明日(14日目)勝てば、三賞の有力候補となるでしょう。 今後、彼が三役になるためには、あと少しのスピードが必要とされますが、 余程の大怪我がない限りは、もう十両に落ちることは無いと私は見ています。 ダイナミックな相撲で永くファンを喜ばせ続けてくれる事を私は願い、そして期待しています。 (In a state of confusion...)
