Hi!
after several months of lurking I finally make it to the member introduction area. I've been searching for a sumo forum some years before, but to no avail... Now I'm very happy to have found you, and for all the things I learned from you - respect!
I started watching sumo on eurosport, can't remember the year, but Wakanohana and Musashimaru were still ozeki. First it was just an alternative to the boring late night shows, then I started to get into it. Musashimaru first drew my attention, only because he reminded me of my godfather, who was only 120 kg but having the same innocent "who, me?" look in his eyes :). Then there was the incredible Takanohana - amazing skill, I'm forever his fan. And I recall Takatoriki for his fighting spirit, remember him winning a basho at maegashira level?
For a couple of years I lost contact with sumo, with eurosport not respecting the printed schedule and me changing jobs and countries, in the meantime Takanohana retired (I miss him, great guy) Musashimaru got promoted - I've seen that basho -and the internet has a large sumo community (In a state of confusion...)
So first of all thank you! for providing all the info, article translations and sumo movies (Sigh...). Great to know there are sumo fans out there.
For now I only play one sumogame, the Rotosumo, after sorting out the internet connection thingie maybe I'm gonna have a try at some daily games. Here I got promoted to makushita so it's going ok so far :)
I'm not talkative, so this one might remain my longest post for a long period of time, but I try to read all the topics.
regards (Sigh...)
