  1. (In a state of confusion...) Cool, time for another round! Zentoryu, your avatar pic is a killer - I instantly forget about sumo when I see it. Do you happen to have a bigger version? (Sigh...)
  2. (Punk rocker...) The ancient Egyptians brewed [a kind of] beer, although I'm sure I tasted nothing like Andechser (Sigh...)
  3. But Doitsuyamas format is perfect for automatic processing! Just run it through a parser and store it to a database; well, I'm gonna do that as soon as I have my own Sumo database
  4. Kawaii desu! :-O Congrats to Shimotori
  5. Hi man - where are you from? Slovakia? Not really, but I'm a half Slovak. Good guess anyway
  6. Ahoj, vitaj! (Sign of approval)
  7. Hi all, I'm watching the Haru Basho on Eurosport (days 13-15 tonite), and noticed that after picking the prize money, Asashoryu always or almost always looks to somebody on his right. I'm wondering who was he giving this "See? I did it again" look. Is it his oyakata, or maybe his wife? Can anyone tell? thanks, Doyobi edit: typo
  8. Hi all, they said it yesterday on German Eurosport, it's being held on 2nd and 3rd of October ;-). I'm gonna be there together with some friends. Anyone coming? It would be nice to meet Sumo fans. I phoned them a while ago and they said it's best to make reservations in June. I hope they manage to set a firm schedule for the event.
  9. I wonder: did anyone talk to Asashoryu in private about this? It seems the right way to do it.

    hi!

thank you, hvala lijepo I'm from Romania, but live in Germany right now, so it's a little bit unclear for me too. The good part is that I can go to Riesa in november to see the Amasumo championship
  14. Hi! after several months of lurking I finally make it to the member introduction area. I've been searching for a sumo forum some years before, but to no avail... Now I'm very happy to have found you, and for all the things I learned from you - respect! I started watching sumo on eurosport, can't remember the year, but Wakanohana and Musashimaru were still ozeki. First it was just an alternative to the boring late night shows, then I started to get into it. Musashimaru first drew my attention, only because he reminded me of my godfather, who was only 120 kg but having the same innocent "who, me?" look in his eyes :). Then there was the incredible Takanohana - amazing skill, I'm forever his fan. And I recall Takatoriki for his fighting spirit, remember him winning a basho at maegashira level? For a couple of years I lost contact with sumo, with eurosport not respecting the printed schedule and me changing jobs and countries, in the meantime Takanohana retired (I miss him, great guy) Musashimaru got promoted - I've seen that basho -and the internet has a large sumo community (In a state of confusion...) So first of all thank you! for providing all the info, article translations and sumo movies (Sigh...). Great to know there are sumo fans out there. For now I only play one sumogame, the Rotosumo, after sorting out the internet connection thingie maybe I'm gonna have a try at some daily games. Here I got promoted to makushita so it's going ok so far :) I'm not talkative, so this one might remain my longest post for a long period of time, but I try to read all the topics. regards (Sigh...)
