Jd26e Teraoho Hitohiro finished with a great 5-2 record (Jumping in ecstasy...) and might get repromoted to Sandanme

:) First I wondered why you spelled "koinage" wrong, then tried to figure out which kind of nage is the koi-nage and why the hell I don't remember it. </off-topic>

Enjoy: The song is called Akebono, I still have to find out if it is the yokozuna. or not I saw them live in Barcelona and they sounded great, but I didn't know they liked sumo too :)

Teraoho from Shikoroyama Beya only managed a 2-5 in his Sandanme debut basho :( Better luck next time!

XXIX World ArmWrestling Championship. (WAF).

The Slavic name system uses the genitive case, that is Ivanov/Ivanova means "belonging to Ivan". The declination is different depending on gender, that's why a man would be called Ivanov and a woman would be Ivanova. I don't know about Russian but at least in Slovak one would not ask "what's your family name?", but rather "whose are you?" I'm not sure about the difference between ev and ov in Russian. -
Dude, sometimes you're freaking me out. :-S

Thank you for the links, here's one comic I read The N00b. It's about a MMORPG.

"Getting there is easy work, but staying there is hard work"
Doyobi replied to Takamizakura's topic in Ozumo Discussions
Is he really a natve speaker? Born in Samoa, moved to Hawaii when he was already 10 years old. I doubt English is his native language, then on top of that he moved to Japan and started sumo when 18... Maybe we shouldn't expect perfect English from Musashimaru. -
Ha, that's nothing! I invited guests to watch it together, food & drinks and everything. I watched Eurovision as a child (and we hd no MTV back then), and I'll never stop watching it, no matter how bad some entries might get. Songs I liked? The Czech, Icelandic, Bulgarian, Israeli and Georgian entries (from the semifinal). Tune in saturday for more!

The Snopes entry on the poodles sold as sheep story Now I know that no website (even snopes.com) should be blindly trusted, but it is a good start for research.

This story is actually a hoax. The Maiko Kawamaki bit is not present in all variants that can be found on the net, but the're basically the same text copied from place to place. It seems that the story surfaced for the first time in 2006

Look what I've found: Now, I've always wondered how would athletes that have nothing to do with sumo perform in a sumo match. And those guys are big and strong, but definitely not rikishi. Also, the ring is a bit larger than a dohyo, and the mawashis at least funny. Still, I wonder how would you, who eat sumo on bread, judge their performances.

corking is when a person will stand in front of stopped cars to let them know that there are bikes coming through. Wow, thanks for covering for me there! It takes a lot to get Doitsuyama to talk dirty (so I hear) so he must have been very curious (In a state of confusion...) Just to clarify, you don't cork for races, only for Critical Mass, where we have had literally thousands of bikes en masse in the streets, taking over all flow of the traffic for many city blocks. Once the Mass has gone into an intersection we don't stop for the red lights anymore, so a few brave souls have to park in front of aggressive drivers to make sure they don't try to zoom through the crowd when a small gap appears. This can be very dangerous, as in deadly, but I have seen some wackos try anyway. Corking can get pretty ugly, as we are dealing with impatient New Yorkers who will often get out of the car and plead/argue/threaten you to let them through. To which you can just point at all of the bikes and say, "Are you crazy?" I've actually had interesting philosophical and political discussions in thes moments, as the ride is fundamentally a protest of the car culture. If someone doesn't relieve you you often get to wait and watch the entire procession go by, and for me it's pretty easy to zoom back to the front and do it all over again. Good times. Next Critical Mass in NYC will be the last Friday of every month, from Union Square at 7pm. The 27th will be the first of the year with any good numbers since winter is still winding down as I speak. Come one, come all, but June/July/August are usually the best, and also October when it happens to fall on Halloween. Do I get it right then, you guys do this on your own? I do the same every monday night during the summer, on the Munich Blade Night (English site), but it's an organized event, with the support of the police. So basically if a car driver is making trouble we can (and we should) call the cops. A police car always go first, and after that we helpers close the side streets until after all the skaters got through, which can sometimes take up to 50 minutes. Traffic lights are canceled during all this time. Some drivers enjoy the show, but some are rude or outright aggressive. I skate with the last team at the very end of the procession, where the people are most impatient.

How's Tsukinowa doing? Healthy and genki or not so much? He had 2 MKs in a row, 2-5 each, I wonder what was wrong.
-
Unnoticed, Wakanosato has crept back into makuuchi. I'm looking forward for a come back from good old Sato, I miss him in sanyaku. He can make it back, go Wakanosato! Jun-yusho is the word :)

Tsukinowa Kumanosuke, from Shikoroyama Beya, 2-5 again :( What's going on?
-
I'd like to see it, if it's in the evening then I might catch it. 19:00 and 19:30 is GMT, Central European or Bulgarian time? Those who remember it on 12th, could you please bump this thread so that the people with awfull short & medium time memory like me don't miss it? Thanks, blagodarja!

Oh, they are lovely! I've seen those little goats at the Munich zoo and I always wondered how would it be to keep them as pets. So, I have a few questions: where do you have them from? do you have problems getting food for them? do you live in a house? where do you keep them? We live in a flat (5th floor, no elevator), and the renting contract has a "no big pets" clause, so we had to limit ourselves to a pair of gerbils. Lovely little rodents they are, they won't really give you the same attention a dog or a cat would, but they are extremely cute and very full of life. I wouldn't dare to take them out for a walk, though. :)

Tsukinowa Kumanosuke, Shikoroyama Beya, Jd15W 2-5 (Applauding...) Better luck next time!

From BBC News What about the last sentence :D ?

4-3 for my Tsukinowa Kumanosuke from Shikoroyama beya (Jd41w). After the 3-0 start I hoped it would be even better than that, but any kachikoshi is good, neh? Good job!
