Doitsuyama 1,259 Posted March 14, 2003 Kotoryu and Jumonji lost today, so Ozeki Chiyotaikai is the first sole leader of the basho with 6-0. Yokozuna Asashoryu is one win behind with Ozeki Kaio and Komusubi Dejima following at 4-2. Kyokutenho is a positive surprise with 4-2 so far while several Sanyaku rikishi Musoyama, Wakanosato and Kotomitsuki are performing below expectations. Maku-jiri Tochinohana looks like an early lock for demotion at 0-6. Akinoshima isn't far behind with 1-5 at M12w. In Juryo Tochisakae was dominating until now, but today he surprisingly lost to Aogiyama. Now the two more former Makuuchi rikishi Hamanishiki and Hayateumi are sharing the lead at 5-1. Juzan returned but looked not strong enough to manage a win in Juryo. -- Doitsuyama Makuuchi yusho arasoi Zensho One loss Two losses Three losses ------------- ------------- ------------- ------------- Chiyotaikai Asashoryu Kaio Wakanosato Kotoryu Dejima Tosanoumi Hokutoriki Kyokutenho Takanonami Jumonji Tamanoshima Tochinonada Tokitsuumi Kotonowaka Miyabiyama Iwakiyama Buyuzan Kyokushuzan Tamarikido Takanotsuru Aminishiki Kasuganishiki Gojoro Day 6 Juryo J11e Kakizoe (4-2) yoritaoshi J13e Kotonomine (3-3) Ms3w Hamanoshima (2-2) yorikiri J11w Juzan (0-4-2) J12e Tomikaze (3-3) yorikiri J10e Kitazakura (2-4) J10w Harunoyama (4-2) yorikiri J13w Hidenokuni (1-5) J9w Dewanofuji (3-3) oshidashi J7e Wakakosho (3-3) J9e Hamanishiki (5-1) uwatedashinage J4w Ushiomaru (3-3) J8w Wakatoba (3-3) sukuinage J3e Asanowaka (4-2) J3w Aogiyama (3-3) tsukidashi J8e Tochisakae (5-1) J6w Hayateumi (5-1) oshidashi J2e Kobo (3-3) J6e Gokenzan (1-5) yorikiri J2w Otsukasa (3-3) J1e Komahikari (2-4) yoritaoshi J5e Senshuyama (2-4) J1w Yotsukasa (3-3) tsukiotoshi J4e Oginishiki (2-4) Makuuchi M13e Kasuganishiki (3-3) oshidashi M14e Gojoro (3-3) M11e Hokutoriki (5-1) oshidashi M12e Kinkaiyama (2-4) M11w Tamarikido (4-2) yorikiri M15e Tochinohana (0-6) M9w Miyabiyama (4-2) okuridashi M14w Jumonji (5-1) M8e Tokitsuumi (4-2) shitatedashinage M12w Akinoshima (1-5) M7e Kasugao (1-5) kotenage M10e Asasekiryu (2-4) M9e Aminishiki (3-3) yorikiri M6e Iwakiyama (3-3) M10w Buyuzan (4-2) oshidashi M6w Toki (2-4) M8w Takanotsuru (3-3) kotenage M5w Kaiho (2-4) M3e Shimotori (2-4) yorikiri M7w Kyokushuzan (3-3) M1e Takanonami (3-3) yorikiri M5e Kotoryu (5-1) M1w Kyokutenho (4-2) uwatenage M4e Wakanoyama (2-4) K1e Dejima (4-2) oshidashi S1w Kotomitsuki (2-4) M3w Kotonowaka (3-3) yorikiri S2e Wakanosato (3-3) O2e Chiyotaikai (6-0) hatakikomi K1w Tosanoumi (3-3) M2e Tochinonada (3-3) yorikiri O1e Musoyama (1-5) O2w Kaio (4-2) yorikiri M4w Tamanoshima (4-2) Y1w Asashoryu (5-1) sukuinage M2w Takamisakari (1-5) Day 7 Makushita Ms11e Nakao (3-0) Ms4w Uchida (3-0) Ms3e Towanoyama (1-2) Ms8e Nadatsukasa (1-0) Ms5e Fujinohana (2-1) Ms2w Sumanofuji (2-1) Ms2e Toyozakura (2-1) Ms1w Kokkai (2-1) Ms1e Daizen (0-3) Ms7w Wakainami (0-3) Juryo Ms4e Masutsuyoshi (1-2) J13w Hidenokuni (1-5) J11w Juzan (0-4-2) J10w Harunoyama (4-2) J9e Hamanishiki (5-1) J11e Kakizoe (4-2) J8e Tochisakae (5-1) J13e Kotonomine (3-3) J7e Wakakosho (3-3) J12e Tomikaze (3-3) J6e Gokenzan (1-5) J10e Kitazakura (2-4) J5e Senshuyama (2-4) J9w Dewanofuji (3-3) J8w Wakatoba (3-3) J3w Aogiyama (3-3) J3e Asanowaka (4-2) J6w Hayateumi (5-1) J4w Ushiomaru (3-3) J2w Otsukasa (3-3) J2e Kobo (3-3) J4e Oginishiki (2-4) J1e Komahikari (2-4) J1w Yotsukasa (3-3) Makuuchi M12e Kinkaiyama (2-4) M15e Tochinohana (0-6) M11e Hokutoriki (5-1) M13e Kasuganishiki (3-3) M14w Jumonji (5-1) M10w Buyuzan (4-2) M10e Asasekiryu (2-4) M12w Akinoshima (1-5) M14e Gojoro (3-3) M9w Miyabiyama (4-2) M8e Tokitsuumi (4-2) M11w Tamarikido (4-2) M7e Kasugao (1-5) M9e Aminishiki (3-3) M6e Iwakiyama (3-3) M8w Takanotsuru (3-3) M5e Kotoryu (5-1) M7w Kyokushuzan (3-3) M6w Toki (2-4) M4w Tamanoshima (4-2) M3e Shimotori (2-4) M4e Wakanoyama (2-4) M2e Tochinonada (3-3) M2w Takamisakari (1-5) S2e Wakanosato (3-3) K1w Tosanoumi (3-3) M1w Kyokutenho (4-2) S1w Kotomitsuki (2-4) M1e Takanonami (3-3) O2w Kaio (4-2) O2e Chiyotaikai (6-0) M3w Kotonowaka (3-3) O1e Musoyama (1-5) M5w Kaiho (2-4) Y1w Asashoryu (5-1) K1e Dejima (4-2)
QttP 0 Posted March 14, 2003 Damn Chiyotaikai. He just can't do anything against Tosanoumi. He just can't move him. Today he didn't even try, he just went and pulled him. But he was lucky and the pull was successful. I wonder what is that mysterious quality that allows Tosa to stop Taikai's charges. I mean, sure Kaio can do it sometimes, and so can Maru, but you'd expect it from them, as they are both heavier than him and ranked high. But Tosanoumi? It seems that for any Ozeki/Yokozuna he's just an ordinary Sanyaku opponent to take into consideration. For Chiyotaikai he's a nightmare (at least recently). Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 14, 2003 I wonder what is that mysterious quality that allows Tosa to stop Taikai's charges Mabye assistance from the gods? Maybe he has a little voodoo doll with Chyiotaikai's name on it? :-( Kyokutenho is a positive surprise with 4-2 With nice wins, today, including Asashoryu. If nothing else, he has confidence and relatively good health. Those two traits are getting hard to find in makuuchi.
