Zentoryu 154 Posted April 25, 2003 (edited) Interesting tid-bits posted to the SML by Thierry PERRAN. It looks like Chiyo's road to promotion may be a bit rocky, even if he wins his second straight Yusho. Hi everybody,As usual, an official weighting session of all sekitori was done today (24th of April) Edited April 25, 2003 by Zentoryu
Kaikitsune Makoto 210 Posted April 25, 2003 (edited) The 10kg loss occurred in 4 months time rather than 2 months because there are no weigh-ins before non-Tokyo honbasho. Wakanosato's weight progress: Natsu 1998: 146kg Hatsu 2000: 155kg Aki 2001: 150.5kg Hatsu 2002: 157kg Natsu 2002: 157kg Aki 2002: 159,5 Hatsu 2003: 161kg Natsu 2003: 151kg It is good to hear that Kaio and Taikai are down in weight too. In other news Dejima is eager to take a shot at another ozeki drive and had 23 trainings bouts yesterday against Miyabiyama and Buyuzan. Kyokai is hinting that if Maru has to skip Nagoya basho too the intai-issue will be brought up. Chiyotaikai had 25 training bouts against Chiyotenzan and other makushita. Happy mood and Kaio & Asashoryu keiko in mind. Futeno says he needs to work on his tachi-ai. Edited April 25, 2003 by Kaikitsune Makoto
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted April 26, 2003 Yokozuna Asashoryu : +2 kg ( from 137 kg to 139 kg, that's a new record forhim !) Don't get too big Asashoryu... Don't lose speed and agility... Wakanosato's weight progress:Natsu 1998: 146kg Hatsu 2000: 155kg Aki 2001: 150.5kg Hatsu 2002: 157kg Natsu 2002: 157kg Aki 2002: 159,5 Hatsu 2003: 161kg Natsu 2003: 151kg So in actuality, Wakanosato has been heavy recently and is getting back in lighter weight. I think this will improve his sumo if his strength is still the same. (Sign of approval)
