Time series data concerning rikishis` weights

Kyokai`s page updates the weight statistics every now and then but they evidently don`t have the old weights anywhere so compiling a robust time series databank on this is hard. Maybe someone has been gathering this kind of data?

Would be interesting to see the weight trends and fluctuations during rikishi`s career!

And does anyone know if Kyokai`s rikishi statistics pages are updated before EVERY honbasho regarding weight? (I know they update the records). And do they arrange a weighing for the rikishi before every honbasho or only prior to every Tokyo honbasho?

Well I guess I could ask them (via the website) directly about this weighing data. Just wondering if it is beyond possibility to get a reply from them

Have you checked old Sumo World btw. I'm not sure that they update all the time, but I'm sure they do from time to time. That might be a relatively easy way to get older data.

Didn`t think of that at all.. Yes I have now compiled some weight data from 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2001 December. Many rikishi have had quite stable weight although I don`t think SW stats are the most reliable either as there can be contradictions and disperancies with other sources but with 2 year intervalls the overall trend should show, especially since there are many 2 year intervalls for some of the rikishi.

I would think it would be straightforward and effortless to update the weights after
