Akinomaki 40,822 Posted June 28, 2019 (edited) Sumo ranked 3rd most popular sport, like last year, after baseball and soccer, but it keeps going down in the index: to 20.1% from 20.7%, in 2017 it was 27.3% - soon it may drop below tennis again like last in 2015. No rikishi is in the top 10 most popular athletes this time. Best liked rikishi is Takakeisho, up from 13 last year, 2nd Hakuho, 3rd Endo, then Takayasu, Goeido, Mitakeumi, Kotoshogiku, Kakuryu, Ura, Tochinoshin.
