勝 Katsu 20 Posted July 29, 2012 Was on DeviantArt.com yesterday and found some things I thought you gyz might like. (All images are copywritten under CC and the property of the artists. If you'd like to find the page of the individual artist, their names are part of the image name like: "_sumo_by_ripe_cheese.gif" so what you have to do is go to Devart and use the artists name in the search window) ((Sumo Game>>> http://ssjjackass.deviantart.com/art/Sumo-game-Alpha-56371688?q=boost%3Apopular%20sumo&qo=581 )) Lastly: Here's an unexpected "backstage" shot from Osaka HonBasho this past Spring;
勝 Katsu 20 Posted August 3, 2012 Also, I found this guy devart who makes 3D renders of fantasy sumo matches: http://templewaq.deviantart.com/gallery/ At a website called Pink Tentacle, the author posts wierd and kitschy stuff from Japan. She has a huge collection of vintage Japanese posters; everything ranging from political commentary, movie ads and subway behavior reminders like: This one is a reminder to subway patrons to stand behind the line while waiting! ...................... Here's a stereoview made from an old pic of Sumo wrestlers. I guess they didn't have protein shakes back then. :) This is a pop-art painting of a famous Japanese legend wherein Kintaro (the Superpowered kid) holds Sumo matches between his animal friends. This one is from the famous "Scarecrow Road"

Bugman 384 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) I found some more stuff. Also, can't get to Youtube as I am behind the "Great Fire Wall" any links to vidz for the current Honbasho would be appreciated. No Youtube? well thats just a pain, i wish i knew of somewhere other than Youtube but i'm afraid i don't, can you access the live stream? There's a link to it at the top of the home-page for this website, i'm using windows media player myself. That's a cool mug at the bottom there, almost cool enough to make me swap for my "Homer Simpson stuffing his face" one, i'd have to alternate :-) Edited September 9, 2012 by Bugman

iron bug 8 Posted September 10, 2012 (edited) I'll do my best to find a site that has at least some of the "main event" matches for each tournament for you. I can't allow myself to allow somebody else to miss out on sumo. EDIT: Have you tried using proxies to watch on youtube? 勝 Katsu 20 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) I'll do my best to find a site that has at least some of the "main event" matches for each tournament for you. I can't allow myself to allow somebody else to miss out on sumo. EDIT: Have you tried using proxies to watch on youtube? Yah, thanks. Eventually I got to see the rest of the Basho (if you didn't pick that up from my other posts) I appreciate the thought. The Great Fire Wall is clever, to say the least. Every time I get a decent vpn, the red flagger software in Guanzhou picks up on it. And the sites that are permitted always change...for example...right now is National Day/ Moon Festival...nobody can get Google in Hong Kong (you can't get to real Google at all) but I'm sure after the holiday, we'll all be able to go there. A couple of years ago, the BeeBeeCee ran an unflattering article about the guhvurnmint here. Nobody could get to their site for another 3 days....but sites like youtube and such are always off limits. Actually, it's kind of interesting. The entire country runs its entire internet through one city...I can't imagine their electricity consumption compared to other cities of the same size. Anyway, I'll keep trying new and more sneaky ways around it...would that make me a Cyber-Mongolian? (Laughing...) 勝 Katsu 20 Posted November 27, 2012 http://www.newfunnyg...om/pl/sumo.html This is a free, online Sumo game. I placed it in the Sumo Games forum, but apparently...my games aren't good enough to rate...anyway, have fun!
