The three-day sumo competition at this year's Kokutai is currently underway, starting with the junior team event prelims today. Here are the results:

Since it'll be some time until I get to transcribe the individual results, I'll just mention that the final was an all-Tottori Johoku affair as third-year student Shinji Kizaki 木崎 信志 beat fellow team member Ichinnorov イチンノロブ by oshidashi. Kizaki also won the individual title at the national inter-high school tournament earlier this summer. (Hmm, speaking of results I never got around to posting...)

Edit: And browsing the new IFS homepage reminds me that Kizaki also won the junior world championship in the heavyweight class in 2010. Pretty impressive that he was nominated for that as a second-year student...
