Kintamayama 47,113 Posted February 11, 2003 Hi! Now, you can see how many of the kyujos were Yokozuna/Oozeki in my all-new graph site. Will wonders ever cease?
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted February 11, 2003 Very interesting. 2002 really sticks out as a peak year for injuries :-P I hope 2003 gets better: can't get much worse in terms of injuries to yokozuna/ozeki than it did during the hatsu basho, right? :~-( Thank you Kintamayama-zeki for the graphs, as always enlightening. I'm curious if there is injury data going back further than 1980?
Kintamayama 47,113 Posted February 11, 2003 I'm curious if there is injury data going back further than 1980? It is now updated to include 1958 (the first 6 Basho year) and upwards.
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted February 12, 2003 It is now updated to include 1958 (the first 6 Basho year) and upwards Very interesting. Thanks for the graphs! It seems that overall, the number of injuries is NOT significantly higher in the past few years than before. That's surprising to me, after the whole discussion on doping and higher weight, I thought we'd see an overall rise in the number of injuries compared to the 60's and 70's. Hmm.
