Kintamayama 47,173 Posted October 5, 2003 The kyokai has begun testing rikishi for sleep apnea syndrome (SAS). The first batch of 24 rikishi were tested, and 4 (17%) were found to suffer from it. Symptoms-loud snoring, halt of breathing, low oxygen level in blood. The tests came after an initial questionnaire was sent out to all rikishi asking them if they had any of these symptoms, to which 6% (of 338 that responded) answered in the affirmative. -- Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
