Kaikitsune Makoto 210 Posted March 9, 2003 Hokutoriki-Buyuzan Both basic pushers started strongly on day 1. Gorilla tachi-ai Hokutoriki succeeded in every pushing muscle activity against Tamarikido and Buyuzan survived a solid grip by poisonous Asasekiryu by blocking Sekiryu's throw attempt and utilizing the backward lean of that throwing attempt. Hoku attacks upper torso and Buyuzan lower torso. One of these pushers goes to 2-0. Tokitsuumi-Miyabiyama Miyabiyama had a nice 6-0 edge over Tokitsuumi before the last bout where Tsuumi outskilled Miya. On day 1 Tsuumi was superb in digging into politically correct shitate-grip and never giving Tsuru a chance to recruit his bodyparts. If Tsuumi gets deep shitate against Miya, rust will shake off in form of another dohyo diving loss. However if Miya can keep on pressure without settling in, he has a bulldozing chance despite Tsuumi's improved power. Interesting bout. Kasugao-Toki Both lost in humiliating fashion. Toki caused earthquakes and Kasugao's every cell was out of control when Shuzan did his thing. Toki most likely goes for some pushing attack before trying a yank down. Kasugao's ability to cope with Toki's yank downs is unknown and on the other hand it might be difficult for him to get close enough to grap the belt. Toki has a nice day at the office doing his attacks calmly. Kasugao has a learning experience coming. Hopefully he is a fast learner. Interesting first time meeting! Kotonowaka-Tosanoumi Kotomitsuki approached Kotonowaka at shitaku-beya on day 1 saying happily "I had a great bout today!". Kotonowaka replied "Mine was the worst". Kotonowaka stopped Dejima's de-ashi brilliantly and seized a nice left uwate grip. Kotonowaka's attack was mis
