KaioU's koenkai has decided that this will be a tsunatori (Yokozuna quest) basho for him. Although Kitanoumi Rijicho said that a 12 win Yusho is not a Yokozuna quest starting point, the koen-kai is going ahead with plans for a tsuna-tying party in Kyushu.

" I don't know what was said before", said Rijicho evasively. There is the unwritten 2 consecutive yusho rule, so the possibility does exist.

"I won't be thinking of Rijicho's words. I will be relaxed and doing it my way", said KaioU.

"We are thinking what we can do when he becomes yokozuna. A party before Kyushu Basho is being suggested," said koenkai chairman.

When KaioU finally made Oozeki, the press said it was after 7 tries. The Koenkai, which seems really supportive but somewhat over-optimistic, called it the ninth try.

"I will do my best to meet my fans' expectations", said KaioU, eyes shining.

Good luck to Kaio -- he seems to have a good attribute, hopefully he is not feeling very pressured.

What's up with Rijicho's "I don't know what was said before" comment? (Applauding...) That guy is strange sometimes..
