Few other sports have their Hakuhos. I think the man deserves his own post-Kyokai-activities thread. Maybe this could be that?
-
Onosato has separated his wheat from the chaff of Atamifuji, Takerufuji, Hakuoho. The only real deal right now, and then some.
-
Can't wait for him to thrill us with his riveting matches.
-
I think I was pretty harsh in saying that. Maybe it was just the the posts with this sudden gushing adulation for him. But I've honestly not seen any kind of spark in his sumo which I have seen in spades in the other three. Time will tell.
-
There's no fun watching Onosato's sumo. He just...wins.
-
Nothing in Aonishiki shows he's the real deal at all. Takerufuji, Hakuoho and Kirishima, far far better caliber guys, started great and look at the plateauing now. No one looks good enough to stop this Onosato shinkansen, and that's a shame.
-
Props to the yokozuna for keeping the niramiai tradition alive. Save Hakuoho, I can't see any of the other rikishi being into it.
-
Onosato holding back?

At this point it's senseless to feel sorry for Takayasu.
-
I think Onosato (and Takerufuji eventually) will make really good yokozuna. They have something that Hoshoryu lacks: consistency.

Privée?

To Abi? Really?
