Damn. Did the penalties yesterday and then forgot this.

If I'm not wrong, this means the team stays as is and I can only send a new team for the quarters, correct?

Correct - you have the same line-up as for the third round of the group stage, with your sub added to the very end.

Not a bad move with Netherlands on top anyway. B-)

Kimyama: 1. Brazil, 2. Portugal, 3. Spain,  4. Argentina (S1), 5. Switzerland (C), 6. Poland

Comment: Have a nice week-end!
vs

Akishiki: 1. USA (R) :'-(2. Poland (C), 3. Brazil, 4. Croatia, 5. Japan, 6. Australia

Jejima’s comment: Akishiki chain breaks on the first link. It is looking good for Kimyama - but Akishiki still has a chance....

Match 4 (Bench World Cup)
Yarimotsu vs Kuma Koma

Yarimotsu:  1. ENGLAND, 2. FRANCE (S1), 3. BRAZIL, 4. NETHERLANDS, 5. AUSTRALIA, 6. MOROCCO, 7. SOUTH KOREA
Comment: Come on en-ga-land...
vs
Kuma Koma: 1.
Netherlands (C), 2. France, 3. Switzerland, 4. South Korea (R), 5. Australia, 6. Poland, 7. Brazil (S1)

Match 13 (Bench World Saucer)
Tibozuka vs Athenayama

vs

Athenayama: 1. Brazil, 2. England (S1), 3. Switzerland, 4. Croatia
Comment : So, so, so disappointed with myself ! Obviously bad luck from the beginning when the dice "offered" me Qatar as (R) team. From that time, I was already doomed... as I never would have chosen Germany if I had the choice. Anyway... Cherry on the cake, my friend Kimiyama nicely stabbed me in the back in the first game, and now Tibozuka, another friend I brought to play the BWC, will probably do the same!

Jejima’s comment: Tibozuka did send in a line-up - but a long time after the deadline - so sadly not allowed. But he has made a great start with Argentina in his first slot.

Match 14 (Bench World Saucer)

Jejima’s comment: It looks to me that Kurosaki is in the driving seat at present - but I can see at least one possible scenario where Andrasoyama can come up trumps.

Match 5 Bench World Cup day 1:

Both Jejima and Chijanofuji start with wins. Some sort of advantage to Chijanofuji though who's (R) team won even if it's only at line 5. Jejima should do a perfect on his side to have a chance and hope for either France or Spain live a nightmare.

Match 8 Bench World Cup day 1:

Brazil is removed here as both players have them at line 1. Kaba has 3 more teams but 2 already lost so far. andonishiki also has one loss. We must wait and see. That said, a win by England and all is finished in favor of andonishiki !

Match 9 Bench World Saucer day 1:

Strong start for Pitinosato with 2 wins on his side. Fujiko has one loss. The Lady will need a strong performance by her remaining teams.

Match 11 Bench World Saucer day 1:

Interesting situation here with few teams on eacg side. I have the feeling that Kaba will really need a win by Croatia to have a chance.

Match 5 Bench World Cup day 2:

While wins are added here and there Jejima scores a goal thanks to England (R) at the first line. Chijanofuji needs now a draw or loss by Brazil to make things even then a win by Spain to qualify. Not impossible but especially the Brazil part is not easy..

Match 9 Bench World Saucer day 2:

Both players have wins at the same lines. So, either line 2, 4 or 5 will probably decide the outcome.

Octofinals update at half-time....

Match 1 (Bench World Cup)
Kimyama vs Akishiki

Kimyama: 1. Brazil, 2. Portugal, 3. Spain,  4. Argentina (S1), 5. Switzerland (C), 6. Poland

Comment: Have a nice week-end!
vs

Akishiki: 1. USA (R) :'-(2. Poland (C), 3. Brazil, 4. Croatia, 5. Japan, 6. Australia

Jejima’s comment: I think Akishiki has already lost this game, due to Switzerland's (C) status for Kimyama....  I can't see any permutations that allow Akishiki back into the game...  Can anybody? If not, omedetou Kimyama for having the game sewn up by half-time.

*************************************

Match 4 (Bench World Cup)
Yarimotsu vs Kuma Koma

Yarimotsu:  1. ENGLAND, 2. FRANCE (S1), 3. BRAZIL, 4. NETHERLANDS, 5. AUSTRALIA, 6. MOROCCO, 7. SOUTH KOREA
Comment: Come on en-ga-land...
vs
Kuma Koma: 1.
Netherlands (C), 2. France, 3. Switzerland, 4. South Korea (R), 5. Australia, 6. Poland, 7. Brazil (S1)

Jejima’s comment: Yarimotsu has pulled level. I think Yarimotsu is guaranteed the win if Brazil don't lose in normal time tomorrow. If South Korea does pull off the upset, then Kuma Koma will be in the driving seat - but would have to wait until the final set of Octofinal matches to see whether or not he progresses.

*************************************

Match 13 (Bench World Saucer)
Tibozuka vs Athenayama

Tibozuka: 1. Argentina (C), 2. Switzerland, 3. Poland, 4. France (S1)

Jejima’s comment: This match could be all over tomorrow.....  but I think with the right permutations, it might yet go to extra time....

*************************************

Match 14 (Bench World Saucer)
Kurosaki vs Andrasoyama

Kurosaki: 1. Argentina (S1), 2. Spain ©, 3. Netherlands, 4. Brazil, 5. Poland, 6. USA, 7. Australia ®
Comment: Damn you, Brazil!
vs

Andrasoyama: 1.
France (S1), 2. Brazil, 3. Spain, 4. USA (C), 5. Poland (R), 6. Australia
Comment:  well, Denmark and Belgium are in their rightful place...

Jejima’s comment: Andrasoyama matches Kurosaki with his super-sub in the first position. Andrasoyama can pile on some pressure with Brazil's game tomorrow.

Refioji Nekonishiki – Round of 16 - Day 3 Standing

Cup Match 2

Kotononami vs Lordshamrockyama

Lordshamrockyama is droning, so Brazil as S1 is in his last slot. But it can be even a real goal, we can’t know yet. Kotononami leads with 1 goal.

Cup Match 3

Ganzohnesushi vs Spytoneryu

Ganzohnesushi leads still with one goal. Which easily can be more.

 Round16_Cup_3.jpg

 Saucer Match 12

Achiyama vs Djodjoyoshi

Two wins for both players in first two slots, that’s great, but bring no goal. Djodjoyoshi still can score one tomorrow.

Saucer Match 15

Oshirokita vs Jakusotsu

Same beginning in this match, Jakusotsu has a big chance to score 2 goals tomorrow

Match 9 Bench World Saucer day 3:

Pitinosato accumulates wins at the first three lines. Fujiko needs definitely to score (potentially) at line 5 with a Portugal win and see then what Morocco will do.
If Morocco lose, Pitinosato wins 1-0.
If Morocco draw, score will be 1-1 ad we'll have to check the penalties.
If Morocco win, Fujiko wins 1-0.
If Portugal don't win, the scenarios give the win to Pitinosato either in regular or in extra time.

Pitinosato     Goal H Chain H   Goal A Chain A   Fujiko
1. Argentina (S1) W -     -     W England
2. Brazil W -     -       Morocco
3. Netherlands W -     -     W France
4. Japan D -     -     L South Korea
5. Senegal ® L -     -       Portugal
6. Morocco   -     -     L Australia

Won't Fujikos Chain break with South Korea !?

What would reduce the number of scenarios

You are correct sir! I was too eager to go to sleep..
Fujiko's chain breaks with South Korea. So let's do it again.
Provided Portugal wins, if Morocco don't win, Pitinosato wins 1-0. If Morocco win, we have a draw 0-0 and go to penalties.

Nope, no hope for Fujiko I am afraid. Even if Portugal and Morocco both won, Pitinosato would win in extra time. Each scenario ends with 1-0 to him.

Let's see that hypothetical situation when Morocco and Portugal win:

Jejima’s comment: As previously stated, Athenayama has won this game exactly 1-0.

Tibozuka 0-1 Athenayama

...And Athenayama is through to the next round of the Bench World Saucer. Tibozuka is on the plane home - but we hope to see him play again in the next edition of this game.

Match 14 (Bench World Saucer)
Kurosaki vs Andrasoyama

vs

Andrasoyama: 1.
France (S1), 2. Brazil, 3. Spain, 4. USA (C):'-(, 5. Poland (R), 6. Australia
Comment:  well, Denmark and Belgium are in their rightful place...

Jejima’s comment: An exciting game, with Andrasoyama taking the initial lead, but Kurosaki making the come back, to win 2-1.

Kurosaki remains in the Bench World Saucer. Andrasoyama is on the plane home - but we hope to see him in the next edition of this game too.

Copying and pasting from the rules....

Semi-final penalty takers

Players need to submit a list of all 8 teams still in the competition in order of likelihood that they will reach the finals.

If the team reaches the finals, it scores the equivalent of two penalties. If it loses in the semi-finals, it is just one penalty. The sudden-death element of the penalty shoot-out starts from the fourth selection onward.

If there is still a tie after all of that, the list of penalty takers submitted for the quarter-finals, and then the round of 16 will be used to continue the sudden death penalty shoot-out. Only teams reaching the finals will count- and will only score a single penalty.

If there is still a tie after that, then it is the player with the fewest red cards, then fewest yellow cards that progresses. After that, it is the player that did best in the group matches, that progresses. If still evenly matched, then, the player who has/had the lowest ranked ® team at the start of the tournament will progress.

For anyone missing the deadline, the first eight on list of penalty takers submitted/('droned') for the quarter-finals will be used - including any teams that have already been eliminated from the competition.

The deadline for submitting the semi-final penalty takers, is the kick-off time of the first match of the quarter-finals.

Refioji Nekonishiki – Round of 16 – End results

And here is the end of the round of 16, let’s see how these matches ended.

Cup Match 2

Kotononami 2 Lordshamrockyama 1

Nice win of Kotononami against Lordshamrockyama who still could score that goal in #6. But it was too few for a win anyways.

Cup Match 3

Ganzohnesushi had no more luck to score more goals, but who cares, when you can go for the Cup

 Round16_Cup_4.jpg

Saucer Match 12

Achiyama 0 Djodjoyoshi 0

The only draw even after extra time, now come the penalties

First round – both players score a goal
Second round – Achiyama misses. Djodjoyoshi doesn’t
Third round – both scores again
Fourth round – and again
Fifth round - and yet again

Djodjoyoshi wins this match and progresses.

I’m asking for Rijicho’s revision if everything was correct
