  1. Reports indicate that despite extensive practice from Ura, his pitch bounced before reaching the plate. https://pacificleague.com/en/news/2025/6/10040177
  2. When was the last time (if ever) we had a basho where all 42 rikishi competed in all 15 days?
  3. Thanks for putting this together! I thought with two yusho and some other points I would at least win a sansho, but this turned out to be a very competitive edition.
  4. I am in. I hope to continue my role of propping up the rest of the banzuke.
  5. 15. Now surely it must be Gonoyama.
  6. I think the only change is that Andonishiki is ahead of Gurowake.
  7. 7. Tobizaru Also if I might make a suggestion to our beloved scorer. When you list the standings each day, would you consider putting the players in order taking into account tiebreakers? Last tournament I found myself having to painstakingly calculate which players I did and did not hold the tiebreaker against in the final days in order to inform whether I should/shouldn't make the same pick as them. I don't think doing it this way would be any more work for you since all you would need to do is put any player who won in the most recent day ahead of anyone with the same record who lost in the most recent day, and otherwise just maintain the same relative ordering for those with the same record.
  8. I had never looked in to Haguroyama before. Wow, what a career! He started from the bottom and spent only one tournament in each of the five lower divisions, each time winning the division yusho. He then spent the remainder of his time in Makuuchi and won seven yusho there.
  9. There is only one player in Maezumo this time so it really doesn’t matter, but for the sake of precedent, I seem to recall the stated intention was that players who entered mid-basho would be given absences for any bouts their drawn rikishi fought before the player registered.
  10. What’s the deal with The Kyokai? Is he/she/it a real player?
  11. I think he means double digit rank - in other words, finishing in the top 99 players. It’s an interesting cutoff to choose because Goshobiyama finished 100th this basho.
  12. 1. Ichiyamamoto 2. Takerufuji
  13. In that case you and I have exactly the same guess. And it looks like I sent in my pick ever so slightly before you :)
