  1. Ah... the signatures are from kiwis living in Japan, I dont expect to get many, but every little bit helps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good luck!
  2. I am with you..... let's see how he goes and then judge on results!
  3. For what it's worth... I think Hakuho may struggle this tournament. There are a couple of things about his "game" that I don't think he has quite right... I hope I am wrong and we will find out come Sunday (night for me). If Tochiazuma can keep up his impressive(ish) form from Hatsu, I would give it to him. From left field, how about Kotooshuu? He is the only non-Asian wrestler to have impressed me recently.... as much as I want Kokkai to do well, he looked terrible in Hatsu.

  5. ...and a bit like the Scarecrow as well (Shaking head...) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...and a whole lot like the Tin Man, especially when he's walking. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Before or after the makeover by the wizard? I am voting for after! Go Takamisakari!
  6. Good point.... but still keen on a new flag ;) The Sumo is almost here. Any Kiwis here have NHK International on Sky?
  7. Yup, I admit... I am a new world national... I am happy to have Scottish heritage, but you know what? I am just as happy I don't live there! You would find very few people in any of the new world countries, ie NZ, Oz, Canada, South Africa, South America, USA, who do not know where their ancestors came from... nothing wrong with remembering where you came from I reckon! While it may seem simple to just change our flag, the fact is there is a vocal minority who do not want it changed and so we continue to fight. Union flag, Union Jack, whatever, don't you think it is a little strange that we have someone else's flag on our flag? Keep up the chat... the record continues!
  8. γιατί; (Singing drunk...)
  9. Wow, is this the longest intro thread ever? Can we keep it going? Being of Scots heritage, I have to say I have a problem with the Union Jack, so it has to go! Looking forward to next Sunday ... I have told my wife, no evenings together for the next two weeks!
  10. Lay off the poor boy. He is just trying to instill his own brand of confidence in his boys! Takamisakari for Yokozuna!
  11. Love the photos of the Rikishi. Brilliant! Asaka no Ume likes the older women, so watch out ladies! My new favourite heya, I would have to say!
  12. Chiyonofuji Sumo! It was the best game I ever played. Unfortunately my Nintendo has long bitten the dust..... I had Terao Sumo too, but it just wasn't the same! (In a state of confusion...)
  13. Hmmmm.... I don't know that language... What does it mean? But Wales may win, that's right... If they beat Ireland... It will be a bit hard, huh?! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It means " They'll be singing in the Valleys" which they will be very soon.... Oh yes, it is Welsh....
  14. I just got this book from Amazon Japan. It is a really interesting read. It is all about Takamisakari's life and his experiences based on interviews he gave with Sumo writer, Ayagawa Gorou 綾川吾郎. Has anyone heard of him? If anyone is interested, the books title is 高見盛の生き方, Takamisakari no Ikikata, which translates to Takamisakari's Way of Living, or something like that. Unfortunately it is only in Japanese....
  15. No, the building only. Heya architecture is very very interesting. Why would we want to know about what goes on inside???? (Shaking head...)
  16. I like the featured Rikishi, but if that is going to be changed, then it has to be a featured Heya. I really like sufing around the different Heya websites and would be interested to hear everyone's take on each one.
  17. Whatever the case, Wales are winning the Six Nations! Byddan nhw'n canu !
  18. No worries, I am for a change of flag by the way! You are lucky to meet / stand next to the man. I would love to have a chat to him some time about Koreans in Japan. Just checking up on the other Koreans... here's hoping for them!
  19. I always thought Chiyonofuji was small when I started watching so many years ago. I loved to see him throw those big guys all over the place. I think Terao can be considered a small guy too. Terao was tall, but no meat on the bones, in Sumo terms that equals small! I think Ama could be a good small guy too....
  20. M11! Wahoo! Kasugaoo is making his move... all the way to the top, yeah!
  21. I really can't see anyone beating Asa. I think that Hakuho may have it, but I can't see him hitting the big time, just yet... I am kind of hoping that Tochiazuma may continue with his form from January, but then I think that may be too much to ask. There is always Kasugaoo right? Right? Well, maybe not..... Bottom line is that there is Asashoryu and then daylight and then moonlight and then a big space and then the rest.... Not looking like a good year for those looking for some exciting Yusho competitions....
  22. Where to start? (Dribbling...)
