  1. Kokkai is just really frustrating. He doesn't seem to learn. It is great to be strong in the tachiai, but you have bring more than a flailing wall of arms. Until he figures out his balance, footwork and learns that you can grab the mawashi he will never go anywhere in the top division. What is his Oyakata doing?
  2. Is that "unknown" wrestler Kambayashi? 上林 ? Edit - Whoops, see this was already answered in an earlier thread. Sorry about that.... ごめん!
  3. He is taking up where Kasugaoo is failing. 야마다 화이팅!
  4. Yeah, I would like to see him continue his streak too. C'mon Kotooshuu! (Blinking...)
  5. well .... get one more and then go to sleep ... just get that KK !!!!! and if you want to win 11 bouts and make a new personal record i have no problem either .... :-O (Blinking...) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't worry he will KK. 11 bouts? That I am not so sure about! If Kasugaoo can get his four wins, then Kaiho can have 11... is that a deal? (Sign of approval)
  6. Watch out for Yamada! The Seoul hope for Korean wrestlers (Blinking...)
  7. I think it's great too! If only more people could have such great willpower. Well done! ;-)
  8. This is really interesting info, thanks Zentoryu. It really "pays" to beat Taka I guess.
  9. Really, Sumo would be a blander sport without Taka! ;-)
  10. So was his first win a genuine henka? He touched Miyabiyama slightly at Tachiai, but it looked like a move of desparation more than anything else, which is sad for him. I really hope he pulls out some good Sumo and gets his kachi koshi.
  11. Thanks guys, he almost had a win last night, so hoping for better today. It must count for something fighting on with such a painful injury, even Kaio didn't bother! Do you think he will be going to Juryo then or is M11 high enough to avoid it?
  12. It pains me to watch my man Kasugaoo lose everyday. It is obvious that he is struggling with his injury and may struggle to win a match. As far as demotion is concerned is it better to stay in the Basho and go 0-15 than to Kyujo now? Is he destined for Juryo no matter what? I would appreciate someone with more understanding of this to give me their opinion. Thanks,
  13. It'll be Rushies' Boys! Go New Zealand! Maybe they will beat Asashoryu in the final match? Someone has to!
  14. It topped off a great day of Sumo for me. The Taka - Kyoku match and then this.... wow, this is what Sumo is all about! Maybe he will take it with his teeth tomorrow? That I would like to see ! ;-)
  15. Taka for Yusho!
  16. On TV last night they said he was rushed to hospital with high blood pressure and liver problems. (or kidney I always get those mixed up). Hope he's ok
  17. Well, so far he looks good. So no reason why he won't be Ozeki come Natsu. The shoulder doesn't seem to be troubling him.... yet... maybe the long rest has done him good?
  18. Any idea what happened to Kinryuuzan?
  19. Thanks everyone.... Day 2 was definitely worse. There is something wrong with him for sure. The commentators talked about a minor concussion for his fall against Kaiho. Darn, a great KK in Hatsu and now this? Not great for the Koreans this tournament as Kinryuzan looks like he is injured. This leaves Yamada as our sole fighter. At least he is 1-0!
  20. Anyone who saw his match against Kaiho (I know there are some Kaiho fans out there!), could you please tell me what you think went wrong? I sat there in shock after the match. It was like his knees just gave out under him. After the match he didn't limp any more than normal so I hope he turns up today. I would be interested in other's impressions.... bearing in mind that any disparaging remarks about the man will be met with an immediate challenge to step outside! (Pulling hair...)
  21. Yeah, Chiyo was all muscle! Asa isn't exactly the fattest guy on the planet either...
  22. But to quote Tochiazuma himself from another thread: Tochiazuma - (Losing to Kotomitsuki's henka) I hadn't thought about that [possibility]. It's the fault of the one who falls for it. - and it makes sense. (Pulling hair...) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, if he has no problem with it, I suppose I can't either!
  23. Give Tochi a break. He is now trying to mend his ways (see last tourney) and he gets this treatment? I hope he goes on to win the Basho!
