Kakuryu handed Shin-Yokozuna another loss, earning 12 kensho and eliminating Harumafuji from contention. Myogiryu had another big win, this time against Kotoshogiku, taking home 9 envelopes. Six went Goeido's way after he pulled down Kotooshu, while Shohozan picked up 3 against Chiyotairyu.

The senior Yokozuna added 16 kensho to his total. Tochiozan forced out Kotooshu to collect 4 kensho, while Kisenosato and Shohozan collected 3 apiece.

Yusho co-leader Goeido picked up 4 from a win over Homasho. Okinoumi surprised Kotooshu for 3, while Shohozan and Tochiozan took away 2 and 1 kensho respectively.

Kotoshogiku picked up 6 envelopes, while Kisenosato and Kotooshu took home 5 and 4 kensho respectively. Shohozan took down a hobbled Baruto to grab the 4 kensho placed on their bout by sponsors. Nikkan is known to make mistakes in their kensho counts from time to time, but they usually get around to correcting them. Also, Nikkan only posts the top 10 everyday, so I have no idea how many kensho someone not on that list has. Some 49 kensho banners paraded arounded the dohyo and the Ozeki looked pretty pleased to collect the big stack of envelopes after the hard fought contest. Kakuryu defeated fellow Ozeki Kisenosato, picking up 23 kensho. Goeido and Aminishiki earned 5 envelopes apiece, while Homasho took home 3.
