Neither happened and Hakuho claimed his 25th top-division title. The Yokozuna also claimed 63 kensho over the final two days, clearing 300 for the tournament. It's the first time since Aki 2012 that anyone took home more the 300 envelopes. It's also the first time in several years that there have been at least three rikishi finishing the tournament with 100 or more.

Apparently I mistakenly marked both Konosato and Hironoumi as Ozeki when I copied the old banzuke into my banzuke-making spreadsheet and treated them as such. Harumafuji lost to Kakuryu, who collected the 17 envelopes placed on the contest by sponsors, nearly doubling his kensho haul for the tournament in this one bout. Kisenosato bested fellow Ozeki Kotoshogiku to pick up 8 envelopes, while Baruto and Myogiryu took home 3 apiece.
