Dual citizenship and marrying in Japan
Takemi replied to ilovesumo's topic in Japan-Japanese Discussions
So that would happen to Hakuho's kid(s) If he doesn't apply/get it... a friend of mine, indonesian female, was married to a japanese male and applied for the citizenship. It took almost 10 years...is that usual? :-O http://tokyo.usembassy.gov/e/acs/tacs-7118b.html for Hakuho's children: "For Japanese citizens who became dual nationals on or after January 1, 1985 (i.e., after the change in Nationality Law was enacted): - If you became a dual national before age 20, choose by your 22nd birthday - If you do not choose a nationality within the time period specified above, the Minister of Justice (Homudaijin) will request you to make a final decision. This process may result in the loss of Japanese nationality." -
I think there are very few athletes who can just switch sport and be succesful and sports they can switch to is even fewer, Asa going to nfl and be succesful is the same as an nfl star would switch to sumo and be succesful (succesful=belong to the very best) . Frankly I think its an insult to fotball and thier sportsmen to say asashoryu could switch to nfl and be succesful.

Heres is the Takasago home page: http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~wakamatu/ there is a email address on the front page. And here is the physical address I think: http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~wakamatu/list/annnai.html Say hello from me (Laughing...)

Uh... because we are not going to see the best fighter? Just because we are prepared doesnt mean that somebody will get upset or lose interest. Asashoryu may not be as dominating as in the past but he still is the best and the biggest obsticle for anybody trying to yusho, especially for Kotomitsuki. Even though the next bashos probably will be interesting you can not escape the feeling that it could have been much better. Especially for the swedish people: Aftonbladet got an article about the whole thing, they are going with "Jealous japanese suspends mongolian champion because of charity soccer game" thingy. Its really bad and hillarious: http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/sport/story/...1132479,00.html

Word! Edit: The same goes with a Yokozuna promotion. And another part is; He is not japanese! (Nodding yes...)

yes, I thought the same thing too, a silver lining indeed for a such a dark cloud. My thinking is he will send someone to sports wholesale shop and buy a lots of weights to build a substantial home gym and then proceed to pump iron and get "stacked" and come back strong. Could also be a good opportunity to get some surgery on his elbow, get the arthroscope in there for a "tidy up" and "tighten up" of the ligaments. Man I wish I myself was about to get suspended for the rest of the year with nothing to do! must be nice! The two real losers out of this are the NSK and the fans Isnt he allowed to do ordinary keiko at the heya? I dont understand your way of thinking, why should he increase his weight training all of a sudden? I suppose he allready have the golden path between weight training and sumo training. You dont have to be on house arrest to start lifting more weights, if this is a good training method I would have thought he(and the rest) all ready would have used this method.

Very nice, thanks (Sign of approval...)

Isn't that very barbaric and uncivilized? Generally I like your posts and you writes a lot of good things, but this remark aint your best. ---------------------------- If the kyokai only knew what kind of feelings they evoked when punishing Asa.... You guys are funny...

I just wanna say that! :-) Others had pressure too but had success. Others had no success for whatever reason. Ok, I get you.
-
Others did as well- just to mention one name- Hanada. Others heated the wall like current Tomozuna Oyakata's son (Mukushita, right?) Kaishoryu. The wall is there and people hit it all the time due to injurie or pressure or whatsoever. It's no shame to loose, it's a shame not to accept it. I dont understand what you are trying to say? The right amount of pressure can be good for you, but too much is too much. Why not take it a little bit easy with the outside pressure, that way pressure is one wall you cant hit. Why the hanadas had succes and kaishoryu havent had any I dont know. There are many things that affects the outcome.
-
hhmm... that kind will grow up with a healthy amount of pressure... not.

No. In the video, it was clear that he had a proper mage. It just sipped down with all the running around. Ok, thanks. I asked before, but I will ask again. Anyone got any video footage of this "outrageous" game of soccer?
-
Noticed the none chonmage Asa, what to the "rules" say about that? I pressume he have his hair in a ponytail in this pic.
-
Nice pic, thank you!
-
I want to see Asa running around in shorts, anyone got a video?
-
Do anyone know what the whole text on the blue t-shirt sais? I bet its one of them funny japanese-english tranlates and it seems like the word love and fat are included, it must be something fun. Anyone recognize the t-shirt?

My impression from the stream was that both asa and chiyo at one moment kind of agreed of a matta, then asashoryu took the opppurtunity. Really bad almost pathetic, me and probably all the fans wants to see sumo not some kind of... I dont know what that was. :-D

Didnt notice that, actually very funny. How do you say it... "Necessity Is the Mother of Invention".... And I would guess that Miabiyama is probably the most "boobie nage" friendliest of all sekitoris, if you know what I mean B-) Good spot! :-D

OMG!!! That's how I started watching sumo! From these broadcasts.... Oh, I'm feeling nostalgic :) (I am not worthy...) thank you so much for putting them up. Im glad you liked them. Im a bit to young to remeber tv4 broadcast of sumo, but I surley liked these videos I came across on the net!

Movie bouts from the early 90s i think, commented in swedish. Its from TV4 broadcast of sumo back in the days, as mentioned its most interesting for swedish speaking people due to the swedish comments. http://www.suginoharyu.com/html/index.html couldnt link directly, so click on "VIDEOCLIP" on the left then "SUMO". posting this under ozumo, wrong?

This must be a first. Why dont delete the whole thread and pretend it never existed? (Blowing up furiously...)

Who's coming to the Europeens in Budapest in June ?
Takemi replied to CH-rikishi's topic in Amasumo Discussions
Exactly where and when is this? where can I find more info on this? thanks in advance -

There is a good possibility that Mizakura only could execute that throw because of his sacrifice. If he had gone easier and not touched the dohyo first ( which is a loss, by the way), there is a chance that he wouldnt have been able to pull that throw off. The point is, that just because it was a hard technique and a nice throw should the rules then be overseen? Do you want to ask Chiyonohana or should I do it?
