Mexico doesn't have an association or team... or do they??? (Clapping wildly...)
-
Tamakairiki is the former professional sumo wrestler who after he retired openly spoke of the harsh treatment initiates endure. I wonder if this will hamper his efforts to get this type of sumo off the ground.

Louisiana anyone? I'm visiting in September & I'd like to stop by if there's a team. Thanks!

Has there been any activity from Indonesia since this post???

Doesn't Louisiana also have a sumo team now??? (In a state of confusion...)

I see an Illinois Sumo Association listed. When did they form? Do they have a website? I'm interested in learning more about them.

Keep your head up, your torso low & your arms in front of you. Congratulations! With which club are you competing? At which event? :-)

athelitextreme replied to athelitextreme's topic in Amasumo Discussions
I appreciate the awesome information. How may I obtain some sort of calendar of competitions in which I am permitted to participate? I would like to plan my next trip around it. Thanks again! (Typing at computer...) -
Does anyone know if the Spanish (as in Spain) sumo team has a website? If so, what's the link? Gracias! (Typing at computer...)

Amateur Sumo Team(s) in Kobe, Japan?

I'm still wondering, are there amateur sumo competitions in Japan in which an adult foreigner not associated with a corporation or university may compete? (Typing at computer...) -
Did we ever find anything out about the streaming keiko? (Showing respect...)

How many sumo clubs do you have in Argentina?

I understand that there are only 11 rikishi that participated in WWII & thereafter returned to the dohyo. Is anyone able to confirm if this is correct? If so, what are their names? Thank you.

Unfortunately, the winner of this award may not have been very proud of it... and overpriced too! http://cgi.ebay.com/BULGARIAN-FEDERATION-O...emZ180177433065

I found the Musashigawa beya website - http://www.musashigawa.jp/?lang=1 Unfortunately I haven't been able to watch the live stream though. USA 5:00PM PST is 9:00AM in Japan & I've been visiting the site for a couple of weeks but there's been no live stream. Does anyone watch it? Am I not figuring the time correctly? Sincere thanks for any help. (Showing respect...)

Are all the teams that will attend known yet?

Thanks! (In jonokuchi...)

Well maybe your three year old kids understand - תראו את מתאבקות הסומו האלו שמראות לנו שגם הן רוצות לשחק קצת בכח שלהן קטגוריה: ספורט, אחר - and everything else on the site. I don't and I dare say that most people in this forum won't either. (In jonokuchi...)

I'm unable to read the language. Is that a Middle Eastern team? Where can I find a list of active Middle Eastern teams?
-
This is the historical type of Japanese women's sumo that I've read about & therefore with which I've been familiar. I'm curious, which federations don't have women for cultural reasons? I wasn't aware of Middle Eastern sumo teams. Thanks again.

While in Japan I noticed that there are no women (and probably never will be) amongst the amateur sumo ranks. I'm curious, are there amateur sumo federations in other countries - either because of the culture or simply lack of interest - that have no women? Thanks. (In a state of confusion...)

I may be wrong but I recall stumbling on a website which offers daily streaming video of a heya's keiko. Am I mistaken or is there such a site? Thank you. (Eh?)
