The reason I can't get onto the rules page is because there isn't a link to it.

How does The Basho work? I can't get onto the rules page, all I get is the sign-up one.

I'm still getting over the shock that I was leading the UDH after day 4. Records so far... Chain Gang: Went out on Day 2 ISP: Currently 2-3 Sekitori-Toto: Currently 2-3 GISP: 18 points Hoshitori: 151st (277 points) Juryo Game: I think the results come after the basho, same with Oracle RotoSumo: 11th in Jonokuchi (464 points) Fantasy Sumo: No daily update this time it seems UDH: Back down to 4th, 2 points behind the leader The only game I've played before is the Sumotalk Fantasy game, I'm M10W there. Does this seem like a good record? If it is, it's probably just beginner's luck.
-
Normally I just play the Fantasy Sumo game, then I looked around this set of threads and found the deadlines and saw that there were 17 games that are out there (7 daily and 10 pre-basho), and Salary Cap for one isn't included in that list. Is there a full list of games anywhere in the forum? If so, can it be stuck to the top of this Sumo Games forum so that people who want to find games in the future won't have to luck out and find them? I'd have a go myself, but I get the feeling that I would miss some of them.

If someone could tell me how to turn a VCR recording into a computer file, and if I have the equipment to do it... definately.

I can't remember the name of the show, but I have a recording of one show from last August when Takamisakari and Tochiazuma took part. Azuma did well on the velcro game, the pump and jump game, and pretty much all the games. Sakari didn't do as well in the first half but improved later. They played that one with the tackling dummy too. If anyone's interested I could watch it again and describe the whole show.

KaioU and Sakari unite for kids, Isenoumi chanko

I don't know if anyone saw it... (I need to check back through the forums to see if it was mentioned) but he said the exact same thing in August when he was in a game show with Tochiazuma. Then again... that would be most people's proudest moment in Sumo wouldn't it? -
Ok.. but why? How did that start?
-
That reminds me... why exactly do the crowd throw their zabuton? Is it only when a kinboshi is won?
-
Isn't his hand touching the ground as well as the top-knot in that picture?

It's ok, no plans to spam anywhere... I knew about the "100 to get a Custom Title", I was just interested in the title rankings.
-
I know that the title changes to different ranks depending on how many posts you make, but which rank does it display for how many posts?
-
I was thinking more of a hypothetical "perfect scenario" situation. What you had said before sounded like the sanyaku matches had a sort of "preferred" schedule for the first few days, obviously injuries and same heya would affect that. Maegashira would face the rikishi with similar records (guessing... list them in record order, then pair them up using common sense).
-
I'm a bit luckier... My university shows NHK during the week so I have been able to see the 1 hour show they do every day. Except for the weekend where the building's closed. Very annoying. So are Eurosport actually showing the basho?
-
I know he meant Kaiho... What I meant was that if someone took the "Kaio with an h" to mean Kaioh, then it would make people think that it's a long o instead of Kaiho. I've seen subtitles depict "oh" as a long o.
-
Which in effect IS Kaio because of the long o. When you hear "with an *insert letter here*" the first thing you do is add it to the end of the name. Kaio = Kaiou = Kaioh... technically I guess.
-
Which kimitare would it be if someone does a henka and wins without any contact being made? I guess there are two of them.
-
Just don't mix him up with Kaiho. (In a state of confusion...)
-
They showed up to Day 9 last night I think. Who was it that they said always does henka? I've forgotten the name... is he liked at all for that strategy?
-
Thanks for the welcome... So does that basically mean that the first 7-9 days are set? (Well, and the last 3 days for the top 4 ranked rikishi) Barring withdrawls what would the first few days be? Seeing as there are 4 Ozeki, 2 Seiwake and 2 Komusibi it should be more symmetrical than usual.
-
I understand that this is supposed to happen on Day 1 (barring injuries, lack of rikishi in ranks and same heya confrontations): Highest Yokozuna -vs- Lowest Komusubi Ozeki -vs- Highest Maegashira (same side) Maegashira -vs- Maegashira (same rank... eg: E-M7 -vs- W-M7) What I was wondering is how the Torikumi is made up after that... Day 2 must be set a certain way like Day 1 because it's released before the basho starts. What about the rest of the basho? Are there set rules/method that they use to decide who faces who?
