Mongolians, their character, their views...
Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj replied to Coo-cook's topic in Off-topic
It is too early to say Asa made his way back to Mongolia. Also He should be very careful about any trap which may be set by other side. -
Hakuho would want Asa to stay on
Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj replied to Indrid's topic in Ozumo Discussions
How about rumor on Hakuho's intention to change his citizentship? Isn't his father-in-law hinting about future possiblities of Hakuho becoming Japanese citizen, probably in near future -

As Mongolian. I also can answer the question. My answer maybe different, it is still Mongolian answer. I try reflect from many comments on online mongolian media. I am sure, I can say. He is more than welcome for his achievements. Mongolians will not pay any attention to this "small incident". We don't expect perfection in any person, we tend to see positive side/achievment of person. Minor mistakes are totally ignored/ avoided to mention. His behaviour is just like me and any other Mongolian and it is very understandable. That punishment due to crime is incident is acceptable, but its way imposing it, the way of trying humilate more is completely unacceptable. Normal non-japanese reaction to "housearrest" is what the fouck is it. who the heck is NSC? I am sure, thousand time I can say. He is welcome back home. Some say he is wimp or disgrace, majority will be happy that s mongolian son come back home. Unlike other culture, Mongolians don't look for small mistakes to blacken good deeds. When I was child, I did not like one wrestler and always wonder about one incident that was about a good wrestler became prisoner for his crime which was serious he got many years in jail. But he was allowed to wrestle during the local Naadam. Yes he was bad guy, but people respected him as Champion and he passed over as Champion. Now as an adult, I find it as what a gracious behaviour from local people. There are psychiatrists in Mongolia, educated in Europe Here is interview of Mongolian doctor N. Oryol. teacher of Psychiatric Health Department of University of Medical Science (of Mongolia) Asahi TV interviewed him by mobile telephone. Questions were smiliar like yours Q- Is there any facility for psychiatric patients? Answer:- Mongolia had independant psychiatric clinic (facility). In the end 2001, we had visitor from Japan who was professor Shinfuku of Kobe (City) University. Now this clinic is expanded as National Center of (Psychiatry) Psychiatric Health. We wrote a article named " History of Department of Psychiatry and its present situation and future opientation". Article was published in a japanese journal of Study of Psychiatry, # 7-2002. So read those materials Q- Is there any patients in Mongolia similarly diagnosed like (Asa}? We ask it because we imagine that people of Mongolia has less stress. Answer:- We have psychiatric patients Q- Asashoryu is punished (2 basho ban, 30% deduction). What is the chance that the person became sick (psychiatrically )? Answer:- Probably it was unexpected punishment, so it caused shock. Also the punishment is conflicting to a person's personal value. Those factors may cause. I am talking about this in general, not individual person (Asa). As a doctor, I refuse to say any diagnosis when I did not personally check the patient (Asa). I can not say about The Champion on his psychiatric condition. Actually, any doctor should not declare about medical condition/ history of patient in public through media. That is our professional ethic as a doctor. But in Japan, why is it announced to public (by media) ? I find it "bad" Q- If NSC allow the Champion go home (Mongolia), is it possible for for you (mongolian medical facilities) to heal him? What kind of medication will you recommend? Is there any traditional methods Answer:- If diagnosis of Japanese doctors is correct, we will use medication of European way and of course in combination of traditional ways. Maybe recovering in the social environment is suitable for the Champion like familiar environment of his homeland (birthplace), change of air, interaction with people and animal( horse riding). Basically let him be in his favorite environment, not confining into limitedl space. ( forced condition) (In Mongolia) our wrestlers usually have their own mentors, (mostly buddhist monks). Monks are not trainer, but advisor, spiritual path finder(correctors). And wrestlers respect them, mentors word is quite influentual. This methods are well practiced in Europe and there are many practicioners. Again, here I am just answering your questions as a doctor. Since I did not check the Champion, I can not recommend anything Q- Is there psychiatric patients from Mongolians who study or work in Japan? Answer:- Not only from Japan, there are few people who were suffered (psychiatrically) in abroad and came back and healed. Even I have student who study about Influence of immigration ( migration) on mental health :) http://www.mongolnews.info/index.php?modul...940ad725d9b8a48 Many people receive him exactly as you have written. People will welcome him certainly with some reprimand. Also "missing mom's meal", "missing his mother" is not associated with weakness in Mongolian mentality. It actually highlights humanity/ kindness of the person. It even goes hand in hand with patriotism. Even Chinggis Khaan was obeying to his mom only . This incident made more famious than ever. People or media start calling him as "son of people (of course Mongolian)" As I remember, when there were conflict between Shuzan and Asa, most people ( public opinion and media) were on Shuzan's side. Now thanks to this incident he is more positively publisized in Mongolian media. If he get over this and stand up again, after some years you might hear MP Asashoryu in Mongolia . I bet for many foreign sumo wrestlers, Sumo is just beginning of their life time adventure. No, no . He did not do anything economically good for "poor" Mongolia. Of course he and his foundation did some charity work for some people. Asashoryu did nothing against Mongolia or Mongolian people, even he did not do anything bad against Japan or Japanese people. He said " I love Japan and Japanese people". That is enough. What else can be said. Idea of "FAN" is not really exist like in other country. So there no question of lose fan If he'll make it back to Mongolia. I AM READY TO BE HIS FAN What is rich or what is poor is still an question. Btw: - Personally I am very happy to grow up in "poor" Mongolia than rich Japan or America and facilitate my children to grow up in Mongolia. Because of our "poorness" our sons are strong and eager to achieve. -

just another proof that Asa should not stay in Japan for his recovery physically & psychologically. Good to hear these stubborn grandpas start giving up. http://mdn.mainichi-msn.co.jp/sports/news/...0sp012000c.html Japan way is weird. Back and forth, half yes and half no, so many IFs - ALL ABOUT SAVING FACE of all those whoever involved. But in their double face, they sure did not bother about saving face of The Yokozuna -

2-3 members of Parlament met with demonstrators few days ago and requested them to calm down. After talk, demonstrators stopped the demonstration in front of Emobassy of Japan. City police returned their previously ceased vehicle documents and banners. President of Mongolia N. Enkhbayar expressed his opinion for Asashoryu. Although he does not want to "involve" , he called NSC to understand "young man's condition" (On the banzuke...) bad boy come back home -
Well, If you did not get the point, the point is that following statement is not gonna happen. They're going to watch his every move for the next four months no matter where he is. "Identified"/"helpless" there will not be any more paparazzi video clips. xmm, it is subjective defending on your persona

Do you live in Mongolia? for sure, I will. I will? So you don't actually live in Mongolia at the moment?? yes, at the moment. Asashoryu can do it again and again. He can do it "consistently". It was clear that next few years THE CHAMPION will be dominant guy. Wnere is award? For Asashoryu, award is no longer only money or some title. He needed simple awards of human touch of little respect, "not respect that attached to Yokonzuna title" . That is why everytime he go to Mongolia where nobody bothered him, where he can relax. Asashoryu is not like Kyokoshuzan who had "cunning streak", Shu knew what to do with "Japanese Way", when to win, when to stop. Asashoryu is not like Hakuho who has image of "good boy" hopeful of becoming soft-eared son-in-law. Now Hakuho learned that he doesn't need to stick out his head over the crowd. Kyokotenho is ....and Japanese Sumo wrestlers are very Japanese. Asashoryu is different. That is why he is the WINNER. He has winning spirit which followed by winner's attitude. When he win easily, he smiles at the loser, like you need some more training. When he win hard, he does shed a tear of happiness, taste of hard work/training. He loses he wonders a second like what? what happened, I supposed to win. Yes He is born to be winner in wrestling. Key to this is He has that winning attitude which made japanese mad or japanese did not understand. Difference is here, other side is using indecent methods to beat THE CHAMPION Asashoryu , as a sumo wrestler/ employee of NCS did his job far excellent (high quality work). So he was given a title Yokozuna by NCS. But NCS did not properly instructed/trained Asashoryu to those rituals/ prohibition that attached to Yokozuna title. Asashoryu did not ask for title, it was given to him. It was not Asashoryu's job to be PRIME EXAMPLE for Japanese people / and learn/or remember every little thing/ritual/prohibition that attached to the title. It is the job of NSC/ stable master to provide Asa, full time teacher/imagemaker. #1 wrestler Asashoryu has to worry about only what made him #1, that is wrestling and winning. Rest is job of NSC/ Stable master/whoever in Asa's team to create examplary image of Yokozuna. They supposed to defend their own creation. But they have betrayed him. What kind of employer are they? In order to trying save their unworthy skin, they blamed #1 guy for their own faulty job. If they (NCS/Stable master) don't take responisibility of their failure, is it only Asashoryu's responsibiliy to bear all the burden of Sumo? In fact he has carried all the burden and attention of failing sumo alone last several years. But award was betrayal. Yokozuna title was one big paper hat that only burns so easily, not helmet. Where is that Jungyo dept who has blown the case out of scale? oh yes Jungyo director Oshima Oyakata who has personal issue with Asashoryu. Asa arrived Japan before Jungyo starts. Jungyo has declared that Jungyo dept does not need HIM that left no chance for Asa to apologize and participate Jungyo. They were quick punish. Suddenly they become very slow. Everyone is on holiday. Everyone escapes. It is even clear now that they wanted to break Asa. Now we have to wait and see if they succeeded to break the spirit of THE CHAMPION -

welcome to Mongolia. there are plenty of places to visit and enjoy. And of course "Moron", please post you picture afterwards. We'll see which one is really "moron". ------------------------------------------------------------ Little FYI:- M

I don't politicize anything. It is you are the one who is exagerating. They just have just expressed their opinion which is backed by many others. And their voices were heard. They demanded full comprehensive report/invstigation on Asashoryu case to be shown. As many others noticed there is actually nothing else prove Asa's "crime" except few second video clip. Everyone knows that they are hearing only one sided story. People did not go out to defend Asa when he did obvoisly bad ( breaking mirror) thing. Becuase it was HIS FAULT. This time it is different, it is the time express your own opinion. Everybody has their own way of defending own countryman. They have entitled for their action which is only way they could do. And you are entitled your opinion. But your use of word "Stupid" and "Sharikov" from russian novel for the people is making me to question your background. Are you one of those who happily joins russians/others to put down your country/ and your countrymen? So anyway apparently we both enjoy life, keep going man. Asashoryi is your Hero also. Don't be ashamed of your own Hero. For many he is the HERO that Asashoryu is THE REAL HERO -

I love that part. yeah you will get it always wrong. There is nothing malicious about tht , I don't see any humilating act on that. It is was pure fight on the stage and its consequences. -
yes. That is the way it should be. He should go to Mongolia. Asashoryu made little mistake playing soccer ( only 10 minutes) on the way to his final destination Khujirt hot spa. He was called back, not even seeing his family members, as his mom stated. Khujirt is well know hot spa west of Ulaanbaatar 500 km. The town of Khujirt, occupying a large bowl in the valley of Khujirtyn Creek, a tributary of the Orkhon River, is famous for its medicinal hot springs and attendant resort. Many Mongolians come here to take cures under the supervision of the resort's therapists or simply to relax in the hot springs with their fellow countrymen http://mn.wikipedia.org-Ху ...;ын рашаан Healing quality of Khujirt mineral water/hotspa was discovered by local man Shunhlai who observed that a deer (with lame leg/ injured leg) used to come to water everyday and lay down in water. After sometime it was healed. So news spread, Khujirt became well known for its healing quality for bone/joint injury. Official hot spa facilities were built in 1940 little town of Khujirt is "sister town" of Matsura , Nagasaki

Asagate: Takasago at fault or not?
Ikh Mongol Dagvadorj replied to Washuyama's topic in Ozumo Discussions
Don't you understand it from cultural point of view. They don't swallow their pride ( even it is empty pride) unless more powerful one force them to do so. Why not NSC swallow its pride and admit their mistake doing rush decision over video clip which cut out of context. As wise old people why not they set an example for apologising for their mistake, Asashoryu eventually will follow. Or Asa will go home w/o permission and never come back to sumo. Pride is more important when one feels it right -

It is flattering "true Japanese"- They count all your faults and mistake. While they are smiling , they harbouri supressed revenge waiting for right moment to kill you. Nothing ( even friendship, merit, respect) is guaranteed there. It needs constant maintanence. Little things matters. "true Mongolian"- non-complicated easy going people. Many things are taken as guaranteed. Champion is always Champion, even the Champion goes really bad- drunkard or criminal. Little thing are not important at all, as long as Achievment is done. Very bad at handling betrayal, specially from most trusted, loved ones. Asashoryu is very similar to that. All his interviews, he expresses his love for Japan, Japanese people and sumo which made him THE MAN famious. Suddenly they have turned on him, over his usual mistake which was not big issue before. Most indecent way of Japanese Media, some people, NSC is that timing of this scandal and their attempt to blacken all his achiievments. Basically they (Japan media, NSC) said we don't need you now, because we have another Yokozuna. That is betrayel , treacherious act. Another difference is that:- Mongolians don't imagine to beat a person who is already down. They help the person get up or hopeless one is left alone with their honour. For Japanese , seems like, they want to beat more and more, to the point that lost person never recover. Is it Confusian mind set- Beat the dog, if it fall into water or If your head is over the crowd, sooner or later it wil be chopped. japan wives are of course an issue. What is the reall issue? Time will show. If they should live in Mongolia, then it is not an issue. Interesting to see, Mongol sumo wrestlers are marry before they become successful. Japanese are married mostly when they are successful. as if now ( when they successful) they deserve wife. ---------------------------------------------------------------- It is really interesting observe how different are these cultures. Sometime, I think Asashoryu incident is clash of different dimension of VALUE -

Of course, they are representing people of Mongolia as same as you are. They are doing their job, demonstrating against rampant political corruption and bribes in Mongolia. Indecent handling of Asashoryu Soccer incident is just one of their (Mongolian people's) concern as long as Asashoryu citizen of Mongolia. Jich:- Your use of some word here is only reflection of your complex -
Now I see. http://www.mongolnews.info/index.php?modul...ew&id=19930 It says:- Yesterday a demonstration was organised by civil movements like "Reform" and "Democratic Union" in front of Embassy of Japan. Demonstrators started at 11AM blowing whistle, holding flag which says " Asashoryu Akinori- symbol of friendship"., they handed over Letter to Japanese Embassy. Aim of demonstration is voice of Mongolian people to be heard, to express wish of Mongolian people and to support Asashoryu. Demonstrators find punishment by NSC is inhumane (house arrest), discriminatory (punishment imposed on Asasshoryu ( as foreign) compare to solution of Kitonafuji case ). Basically demonstrators demanded NSC to reconsider their decision and requested Embassy, their letter to be transfered to NSC. Official of Japanese Embassy responded to demonstrators. "(I) don't know how to respond your request/demand. Embassy of Japan handles affair between the governments. Anyway your letter will be tranfered to NSC" Also article mentioned about one sided information on Japanese media (Shaking head...)
-
And with that comment you show 100% that you don't belong here. I think when you quit this forum it will be no big deal, but to say the same of an active yokozuna...... (Shaking head...)....clueless, utterly clueless. please, read it in context. I was not expressing my opinion, but conveying what is in mong.media/public opinion. Btw: Why are you doing that? If you decide that I don't belong here, If you want to ban me, why don't you do that.
-
I haven't heard that demonstration yet. :) What took them wait so long . :) There are some local student unions, one civil non-governmental organisation expressed their opinion. As I read, Asa's family is very quite. Public opinion is indifferent. If Asa continue sumo, people expect to see him kicking some more faatballs. If he quits sumo, that is also fine, no big deal. He'll be back in homeland where he always wanted to go, personally he'll enjoy freedom life, some more kids (I am going off-topic...) , he should quit sumo and study some profession in Japan. His brother Sumaya came to Japan and advised Asa to study English in this NSK approved free time and went back, (Blinking...) . Everything has good side Actually no one lose
