  1. safety blanket?
  2. Thanks, these are excellent (Sign of approval) I suppose Ama wouldn't want a tsukebito that weighs more than him, huh? :-S
  3. Hmmm... Isn't it better to be just quiet than to complain? It seems that Osh is no good with the press and silence in such a case is a smart thing to do. Hell, people would be less mad at Baruto's henka in the bout with Taikai, had he just for God's sake kept his mouth shut after the bout with Hakurozan.
  4. Wow. madorosumaru, thank you for this long and insightful explanation. (Dohyo-iri...)
  5. Did that reaction leave anybody else here bit puzzled? (Dribbling...) In the massive Rohou thread roydrager mentioned that when Rohou comes back he will have gained lots of Japanese fan support and I thought that he was being ironic but what the hell was it today? At the dohyou-iri and during Rohou's match there were countless cheers for him. Did this incident with Chiyotaikai and the photographers really make him more popular? (Clapping wildly...)
  6. Yeah what's with this "Hakuho should know his place" that Asa said back in June. It was obviously a devious scheme that would make his loss on senshuuraku more credible. And didn't Asa fix Hakuho up with a keshou mawashi a while ago? They're in league and it goes waaaaaay back.. (Clapping wildly...)
  7. Quality interview indeed (Bye, bye...) Thanks for bringing this to us (Sign of approval)
  8. Aminishiki and Jumonji have fought 10 bouts and they should have 7 and 6 wins respectively.
  9. How did some of these guys make it to Jonidan without a single KK? (Neener, neener...)
  10. After been hit in the face by Hakurozan I would be crying on my knees for my mommy (Laughing...) That's beside the point. A sumotori has higher standards. The press (and maybe Kyoukai as well?) mentioned Baruto's stare as another example of deteriorating sumou etiquette after yesterday's Rohou uproar and I am sad that Baruto provided such opportunity for them. Therefore it's good to know that such a reaction was an exception.
  11. Really? (Laughing...) I've been wondering about his reaction to the last two losses after the Hakurozan "evil eye" incident. The webstream has just concentrated on the winners in both cases. I hope he'll continue to learn and grow. (Sign of approval)
  12. Hey. Maybe this link might be useful: http://www.sumo.or.jp/eng/kyokai/kenko_taiso.html Scroll down for two pdf files.
  13. Do you happen to have any video clips of this Naadam festival? It is often said that Mongolians use moves from their wrestling in sumo. I'd like to see whether such similiarities are apparent to my untrained eye. (Hit the wall...)
  14. Hmm.. indeed, hitting with full force might not have been the best idea, after the blow it's as if Baruto loses his ring sense and from there it's an easy win for Hakurozan. Exactly! A loss is a loss. There's still time to get KK or more. Hmmm.. I wonder how much spice do the reporters add to the rikishi talk.. Unlike our madorosumaru they don't use italics..
  15. Baruto would do well to review the bout on video before he talks to the reporters.. (Sign of disapproval) Well, Hakurozan has given us a nice demonstration, hasn't he: outmaneuvre Baruto's grab at the tachiai and then use his momentum against him.. The dude will be helpless cos he doesn't consider such a move real sumou.. Goddamn does Baruto need to learn how to counter opponents fast moves if he wants to win against Asa some day. :-|
  16. First of all thanks for these statistics. (Sign of approval) Second.. wow.. There was more kensho on Takamisakari's bout after his three losses than on Asa's bout after three consecutive wins.. :-| Where's the love for the yokozuna?
  17. Umm.. just to be clear here, I am not the guy who capped and put these on piratebay, so I don't know. I read about the caps on another forum and since Ryukaze asked, I just provided the link. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression here.. :-|
  18. Well, the caps of bouts like at banzuke.com and info-sumo are walking a fine line already. A broadcast of the whole day might really be over the line... You're welcome (Whistling...)
  19. I wonder if it's ok to post this (Blushing...) If you can use BitTorrent then check: (link removed) For day 2 and 3 there are full length captures of NHK broadcast of makuuchi bouts.
  20. Excellent. (Sign of approval) Thank you.
  21. And he continued to be nervous today as well.. (another matta two days in a row (Punk rocker...) ) Hopefully he pulls himself together after today's win.
  22. According to the Chiganoura blog, Katou will have his first bout tomorrow. He will (or might?) be changing his shikona to Masunoyama (I hope this is the correct pronounciation of 舛ノ山 (Punk rocker...) ). Apparently this is the second time in recent history that there's been just 1 recruit. Seems the previous one went to Kasugano stable while the current coach of Chiganoura was still an active rikishi there. Too bad he doesn't mention the exact date or name.. Source: http://ameblo.jp/raou777/entry-10014534819.html
  23. Hmm.. Interesting. A whole division consisting of just 2 rikishi. It seems bit unlikely though that just the two of them are going to fight until one gets 3 wins.. (Blushing...) Thanks for the info.
  24. So.. Is Kato the only one in Mae-zumo currently?
  25. Happy birthday! And thank you for your excellent posts! (Holiday feeling...)
