Sumo Digest ends

I read on the MLs (english and japanese) that NHK's Ozumo Digest is being discontinued. Once, a long time ago, someone mentioned that sumo aired by Eurosport is in fact this Digest. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, what consequences will the end of Digest have for Eurosport's sumo broadcast?  (Laughing...)  Hopefully thsi doesn't mean the end of sumo on Eurosport...  :-0

If Digest disappeares I guess Eurosport will have to broadcast the basho live, in its entirety  :-P

Perhaps someone could send the question via email to Eurosport.  Perhaps we will even get an answer before the next basho  :-)

Well, I mailed them, but I believe in strength of numbers - more mails they get, more seriously willl they take us (European sumo fans). So, if you have time and inclination, please write a worried mail to Eurosport... :-)

I just sent them an email, and I don't even live in Europe / get Eurosport (unfortunately -- I love that channel)   :~-(

Eurosport answered, and here's what they said:

"Thanks for the e-mail and your interest in Eurosport.

Please find the attached sumo schedule for the next few weeks.  Don't worry

sumo is to continue on Eurosport!"

And here's in short the schedule they sent me:

Every day from tuesday April 15th until saturday the 19th, 18:00-19:00. I can't say if it's CET or GMT, tho'.

Eurosport's schedules are usually CET, but we have to double check on that one.

Hmm... 15th to 19th - sounds EXCELLENT! We have a college vacation during that week, so looks like it's not gonna be a problem for me to tape the basho.
