Tony 16 Posted February 4, 2003 In 1960, Dewanoumi Oyakata ( ex-yokozuna Tsunenohana ) died. During Sadanoyama's yokozuna suikyo shiki, I didn't watch an Oyakata besides Sadanoyama and Okamisan. So, who was Dewanoumi Oyakata between 1960 and 1968 ( when Sadanoyama stopped his career )? Dewanoumi's toshiyori was reserved to Sadanoyama? and ex-Chiyonoyama was the beya's coach? Chiyozakura 163 Posted February 4, 2003 I think Tsunenohanas successor was former Maegashira Dewanohana. In 1968 he gave the stable to his son in law Sadanoyama and took the Musashigawa name. He than became Rijicho until 1974 when he reached retirement age.

Why Chiyonoyama decided to create Kokonoe-beya? and why Kokonoe-beya couldn't stay in Dewanoumi Ichimon? Chiyonoyama wanted to become Dewanoumi Oyakata?
