Thank you for posting all this information each basho! It is very interesting.
I am looking to do an analysis of the average bout duration for each rikishi. Would you happen to have this information (including past basho) in a spreadsheet/.csv format for easier sorting/analysis?
Also, are you collecting this data manually by watching the individual matches or is it an officially tracked stat by the JSA that's posted somewhere?
Either way, do you know how the bout duration is measured?
Does the timer start from the collision of the tachiai or from the very first movement to initiate the tachiai?
Does it stop upon someone actually hitting the ground or when the gyoji signals? I can imagine simultaneous air borne exits from the dohyo may make precisely marking the end of a match difficult sometimes.
