Is it a done deal no matter how many Juryo demotions? I'm happy for him.

Good to see a bit of hair growth on Osunaarashi.

Weight problem in sumo and why Kisenosato may not make it to Yokozuna
tzutzy replied to wanderer's topic in Ozumo Discussions
I think Gagamaru would benefit if he lost a bit of weight. And probably Takanoyama could do with a bit more. -
That explains it. Is there is a difference in salary between K and S?
-
It's a pitty though, I for one believe that 10-5 at K is quite a good result and should be promoted to S. If 10-5 is enough to start an ozeki run from S, why not promote a K with it...

This actually brings a few questions into mind: - If he drops below Juryo, would he have to move back into the heya and be assigned duties again? (I'm assuming he currently lives outside the stable due to sekitori status); would he lose his tsukebitos? - How about other rikishi that spring up from Makushita into Juryo temporarily then go back due to makekoshi? Do they move out of the heya for 2 months then come back? - In heyas that don't have sekitori, would the highest rikishi on the banzuke be treated a bit more preferential and would have none or less duties to perform? Sorry for posting this here and thanks for the replies.

Well I thought he looked a lot better after he gained some weight.

Very interesting stats - I haven't seen this table before. Looks like only 1 person got Aoiyama right... (Whistling...)

I can only see 3 pages of topics in the Games Forum. Am I doing something wrong? There should be more topics, - I can't even find the last 21 Basho in Nov12.
-
Why not?? To make it more fun.

I can compile a win/loss and a banzuke if people are interested. When did the game start? As I'd need to go back to the start to be fair to early participants Edit: I cannot find previous 21 posts in the Games Forum, have they been moved/deleted?

I'd like us participants to think and come up with some sort of sansho prizes for this game. Here are some suggestions: - Kanto Sho: a system similar to "guess Kisenosato's aite" ginosho prize where if you're the only one to pick let's say an A for a match and you're right, you get let's say 3 points, then 2, then 1 (with more people picking that option), winner of the prize is highest points, with a minimum of 3 or 4 points for example; - Shukun Sho: most points from bouts involving sanyaku rikishi, with a minimum of 3 points. This past basho would've been getting most points (at least 3) from the first 5 matches. - Gino Sho: highest number of successful 'X' picks. Any others? :)

Was it just me, I thought a lot of rikishi slipped on the dohyo today (day4).

Wow, that came as a surprise :-) I humbly accept my 1st 21 game yusho and promise to continue to do my own kind of sumo in the future. Now I need to go find that frozen fish in the freezer and take it out for the photo session :-S Thanks to all involved in running the game! :-D

Yes, long time no see :) I was still following the sumo mailing list but that email address got deleted, then life took over... as it always does. I've been following bits and pieces on and off. Hopefully I will have more time to dwell on these forums. I can see lots of familiar names - oh the memories! hehe Thanks for the welcome

I couldn't find info on the scandal that lead to the dismissal of so many rikishi (I must say I didn't look too hard, but I did try). Does anyone have a link, or maybe can summarise in a few words what happened? I haven't been following sumo for a while now I see a basho has been skipped (due to earthquake?) and also lots of retirements so I'm a bit curious :) Thanks.
