Thanks for the info. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then again many things in Ozumo baffle me. (Whatever above, it is funny...)

Was Osunaarashi was supposed to be in mae-zumo this basho? http://sumodb.sumogames.com/Rikishi.aspx?r=11987 Papers are now saying he will do maezumo in May and will do the check-ups in March. Oyakata on his back already?

Thanks Fay, I appreciate the effort! (Applauding...) My wife appreciates it that we wont need to get a divorce.

Hey, So I'm thinking of purchasing a vanity plate for my car, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for what I should get? (Sumo themed of course) My limit is 7 characters (letters or numbers)

1-1 Already announced on NHK's website for Day 1: Japanese side: Kitanofuji and Mainoumi as usual; English side, Hiro Morita and Stuart Atkin. Subject, of course, to instant cancellation if another scandal erupts. :-) Orion Great news! What day will Doreen be on? -
Good luck Daniel! ;)

I am trying very hard to think of a sport where a British team or competitor would go in as a strong favourite. I guess darts, snooker, cycling and rowing (to some extent) would be about it. Basically pub sports or sports you can do sitting down (our equestrian team usually does well too), are the British forte.... But, the press does get very excited about any sports, where the British are not favourites, but 'dark horses'. Andy Murray (tennis), the English cricket team and coming up to the World Cup, the English football team. Some people in Britain (well, England to be more precise) think we actually have a realistic chance of winning that one....! (I am not worthy...) The English do love their Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button. -
Try to get to the Ryoku Kokugikan early the day of your tickets. It's pretty empty for the lower divisions so you can sneak down the ground level to watch up close. Avoid the ushers by not using the aisles (step over the rows instead). I've done this a couple times and have not been hassled. Have fun!

Do any of the heya\oyakata get bonuses for their boys winning?
